Acushnet files for stock IPO

Want to buy some :titleist: stock? FYI, parent Acushnet Holding Co. filed SEC paperwork June 20 to hold an initial public offering of stock. AHC seeks to raise $100 million with sale of shares on the stock market. Currently, AHC is not publicly traded.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Acushnet will adopt the ticker symbol "GOLF".

I like golf, but i don't see the growth opportunity. Sounds like the IPO is to cash out by the current owners.

It would be interesting to know if AHC is counting on prestige purchase of Titleist stock. A few sports teams trade on the stock exchanges, such as Manchester United and the Atlanta Braves. Will 10,000 golf fans - fan is derived from fanatic - shell out for Titleist?
