Don't think my videos have uploaded

Welcome @BeemerK12S to TST. Usually we like people to post around the forum a bit before posting a "My Swing" thread. The idea being you contribute to the community offering your thoughts before taking advice and thoughts from us. That said, I'll go ahead and offer a thought from what I see.

You are taking the club too far inside at the start of the backswing. Once that club gets behind you you get your right arm in a poor position and you are trying your best to get it back in front of you for the rest of the swing. I traced Robert Rock's clubhead from A1 to A2 and you can see his is outside of his hands and then inline with his hands. You are way inside with the clubhead.

Some of this is the angle you have done your video at, but you also are coming too far inside. The angle is something to be careful of. Here is a good article for you to read about proper camera placement.

So my advice is go post around the forum work on not letting that clubhead move to far inside at the start of your swing and post another video.

Your shoulder turn is way too flat on your backswing. This is why you are taking the club back so far inside and lifting late in your backswing.

If you get your lead (left) shoulder pointing down at the ball and feel your right shoulder "up" on your backswing, this will assist you in making a better turn as well as help prevent you from whipping the club dead inside. Both of these things will help the other -- turning properly will help the club, and fixing the clubhead's path will help your turn. Tom Watson is a big proponent of your shoulders working 90 degrees to your spine and this is a great way to start along that path.

You can see from mchepp's photo of Rock that his shoulders are working on a much steeper angle of turn.

Hope this helps.

Andrew.

Michael and Andrew.  Thanks for your comments. Spooky that you chose Rocky as my videos were taken at his academy in UK!

Other points taken too. Even though I've been playing a while, my knowledge is still not great and I've probably only recently started to get so frustrated with the game that I have decided to do something about it. I have had numerous lessons, but to no avail. Determined to get it better this year!

Bad first post

I'm assuming I keep posting on this thread, rather than opening a new one?

Tonight's efforts. I know my left wrist is cupping too much and I probably need to get my left shoulder higher at set up, but, again, comments are welcomed...

Yes.

You can use a little forward bump of your hips (towards the target in the face-on view, reverse K) in your setup. I think this is your priority:

Not bad at all for your shoulder turn. What @billchao posted is great too :-) - even in your set up though you set up a little tilted toward the target, so do that wall drill and you can put a little axis tilt in your setup to begin with.

Pretty much nails what I'm doing wrong - finish in backswing with arms, especially left, limited rotation and, in the comments, weight on outside of right foot with a tendency to roll over and lift right instep. Definitely going to give the drill a try!

    • Day 211 (29 Nov 24) - Friday men’s round albeit a solo foursome (temps in the 40’s, day after Thanksgiving and the average age closer to 75 - I’m a youngster at 65).  Interesting day of semi-solid play (8 of 18 GIR). Hit all four par threes in one (a first) - parred each; still had a couple 3 putt bogies; and blew up on 3 of the par 5’s (go figure)). The blow ups were some serious tree rattlers - amplifying how I got stupid and greedy instead of smart and content to just get back in the short stuff.
    • Day 60 - 2024-11-29 Got about 3.5' of snow today, so I was going to go to Golf Evolution, but… I only left the house to throw some snow. Instead, i checked out my putting stroke on HackMotion in the basement. Turns out… it's pretty good, and I'm very in touch with what I'm doing.
    • First time playing this game, Spanish is my native language. It was impossible for me. After 4 worlds I run out of worlds that have the letters I've already found that can be combined with the remaining letters.. just repeated the 4th world to knew the answer. I know the world but it never came to my mind.
