The other day a friend of mine was in from California and he let me hit his taylor made tour preferred udi 16 degree 1 iron. 

I never fell in love with something so quickly! I was hitting a soaring high drAw that was rolling out to the end of the range.  He was not parting with the club and I went online when I got home and it seems everywhere is sold out of the 16 degree.  Does anyone know where I can find this ?

Saw a couple on ebay but they were quite overpriced. All the online liquidators have been unloading the excess stock of these for some time.The 16* disappeared first because much fewer of them were manufactured.

I know it's not quite the same but Srixon has a u45 utility iron that goes down to 18 degrees. I have one and it's also one of my favorite clubs. Might be worth taking a look for if you like that style of club.

Other club manufacturers offer:

  • Callaway Apex Utility Utility Iron (low loft = 18* 2i)
  • Titleist has 716 T-MB  Utility irons (low loft = 17* 2i)
  • Srixon has Z U45 Utility irons (low loft = 18* 2i)

Sorry, but not many modern 16* irons.
