These have been working fine for me:

https://www.amazon.com/CaddyDaddy-Constrictor-Travel-Cover-Black/dp/B007OK8588/ref=sr_1_1?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1475960293&sr=1-1&keywords=caddy+daddy+golf+travel+bag

We often fliy Alaska Airlines that has a one bag limit.  With the smallish and very light golf bag above we can get me and my wifes clubs into one CaddyDaddy travel bag and it's right at 50 lbs.  That and a large suitcase, plus a carryone, we can travel for a week with no extra bag charge.

What is the difference between the BurstProof II and Last Bag Collegiate? I ordered the BurstProof II and received a Last Bag Collegiate...

In looking at the website it looks as if they've just renamed the Burst Proof as the Last Bag Collegiate.  It's their smaller bag designed for smaller golf bags opposed to the Last Bag Pro that can handle a full size staff bag.

Interesting - thanks!

I realize this is an older thread, but I read a lot of good stuff here and with spring around the corner it's worth a bump.

I'll add my .02 as well.  I've sold different types of travel covers when I was in golf retail, and I've traveled with my clubs a lot, and I would encourage anyone in the market for a travel cover to spend as much as you can afford on one.  I understand it's tough to pull the trigger on a $200-250 cover that you might use once or twice per year, especially if there is a nice looking model for $60 right next to it, but trust me...this is not an item to skimp on.

Traveling is stressful enough with crowds, luggage, checking baggage and everything else that is involved.  When you take your clubs, it doesn't make it easier.  But, the travel cover you choose can minimize the hassle greatly, or it can ruin your trip. Cheap travel covers use cheap material, cheap wheels, cheap handles and cheap zippers.  When zippers rip or get stuck, carry handles break or tear off or wheels crack it creates a huge headache when trying to maneuver through the airport or to and from your car. I've seen inexpensive covers shredded after one trip.

We all have pride in our clubs and spend hard earned money on our rig, and with drivers costing $400 and shafts costing $100-300, it's not uncommon to have $400-700 invested in one club!  Think about how much you've spent on your set. $1,000?  $2,000?  Isn't it worth $200 or a little more to protect them?  And it should be a one-time expense.  The top-of-the-line covers will last a long time, and some even have a lifetime warranty.  If you get a cheap one, you'll almost certainly wind up having to buy another one when it falls apart, so it's actually less expensive and will save you much frustration by getting a good one the first time. Hardshell cases offer great protection, but they are heavy and can be cumbersome.  Softsided models from Club Glove, Sun Mountain and Ogio are worth checking into.

I have a Samsonite hard cover case that has so far been great for travel.  It is big, but it has wheels and we're renting a larger vehicle when going on golf trips (4 guys, their bags, luggage, and usually a little driving... get the Tahoe)

    • @DeadMan, I think your approach makes sense. As @dennyjones said, consistency is the key.
    • Day 204 (22 Nov 24) - Weekly men’s group round today.  Temps in the upper 40’s, WNW winds 5-15mph - was the old man in the foursome (next youngest is my junior by 10yrs) - held my own against them.  Iron play getting more consistent -seeing predictable ball flights and distances. While the consistency coming around still had sone solid negatives as I had two dbls and one triple. On the plus side - eight pars and one birdie.
    • I don't think anyone will really care.   It's your call.  Just be consistent.
    • I agree, until we are watching the 18th hole in the dark or waiting for the champion to finish and it's been 5+ hours
    • Question for the group. The course I normally play at has 27 holes - 3 9s that they use to for 18 in the various combinations. Is it okay to declare* if I’m playing front or back when I play 9 on this course? I’m figuring I need to declare before I play a shot. *meaning just say to myself that this is the back 9. Curious what people think. Of course, my only holes left are 13 and 17, so I’m going to declare the back 9 for the rest of the year. Probably only one or two more rounds though.
