Today i played the final match in the scratch fligth at my club. Like usual it´s a 36 holes match.

On 24th hole Par 5, i was 6 up. Hit my driver on the rigth rough, my competitor do the same but shorter in some threes. The group in the fairway that let us go through watch our drives. When my competitor arrives where they were, they told him where his ball ended, the ball was after the trees. One on that foursome found a ball on the trees but said that the ball were his. My competitor check brand and number and hit it to the fairway and so do I.

While waking to our´s balls one ball rolls between us. wtf? the man in the trees almost hit us.

When my competitor steps to hit his 3er shoot he realiced that the ball weren´t his ball. He was playing a titleist 4 with a blue dot but the dot where´t there. He walked back to "the man in the tree"´s ball and that was his ball. Both played the same ball but only one was marked.

My competitor get really pissed because they saw his drive and point him to play the wrong ball, besided he admited that still it´s was his fault he shake my hand rigth away and gave me the match.

I was kinda shock, never happend to me that my competitor gave up the match before time. 7 up and 12 to play it´s a good difference but the match wasn´t finished at all, early in the year i won a fourball match 5 down and 9 to play on 17th!

So... Did someone ever give you a major match ahead of time?

No, never.  But I have not had a great deal of match play experience.  Some people, when down and not playing well, quit.  Your opponent was one of those type of people. Congratulations on the win.  An opponent's poor decision does not take away from your good play.

I had a guy concede a match to me before we'd even started.

He had injured himself between matches (the full tournament took weeks) and had to concede. This kind of thing happens fairly often.
