Had a lesson yesterday and I was working on a drill where you set a cane up the same angle as the club shaft and swing over and then under to get you on plane. Has anyone else had experience of this as I'm still hooking a bit and today I was thinning a lot (not sure if the frozen ground is partly to blame for the thins).

I've done a similar drill, though you have to be careful not to hit the stick as it can easily lead to a broken shaft.

Put a pool noodle over the stick, at least.

And consider going "horizontal" with it by using the Chili Wacker:

Though… getting one to Scotland may prove difficult. :-)
