Hello to everyone - glad to be part of the forum.
I'm a mid handicapper who after years (well, decades actually) of playing this great game, I am finally putting some decent rounds together.

When not golfing, it's all the usual family stuff - I have three girls, two grand-children and a 3rd on the way.
Any time left to me is spent playing and rehearsing with my long time pals in a Rock group. There's none of have much talent (or hair ) so if we're going to Rock the World, we'd better get a move on.

Kind regards to all
Pete.

Hello to everyone - glad to be part of the forum.

Hello, fellow golfers and greetings from South Florida. I watched The Open on tv for the past 3 days and loved every minute of it. Tiger Woods has proven he is the best golfer in the world and has done it with style, poise, grace and professionalism. The entire event was a thrill to watch! St. Andrews - the grande dame of all courses, magnificent!

Welcome! Nice to hear from both of you. Scotland!? I'd love to visit and get in some round of golf in the homeland someday.

Hey Pete,

How're you doin' Brett?

Although originally from Edinburgh, I live in a wee town about 15 miles south east of Glasgow. We've had a fabulous summer so far, and all the courses are in tip-top condition. I play in a number of 'Seniors Open' club competitions, which means we get to play some pretty good courses for very little money.

Couldn't agree more about Tiger - he's the consumate professional. I was kinda hoping that old Monty might have done the Biz on Sunday, but I was pleased to see Tiger making inroads on Jacks record 18 majors.

It was also nice to see Freddie Couples getting in amongst the Big Boys again.

Regarding Monty at The Open: He played very well, and (to quote him), "there's no shame in coming in second (place)". Of course, it would have been wonderful for him, his devoted fans, and his countrymen if he had won. I must admit, I was rooting for Tiger to be first, and Colin to be second. I was also surprised to see how well Jose Maria played. I had the pleasure to see them all play at the Doral (Blue Monster) in Miami this past spring. It would have been the "tips", if I could have been at St. Andrews to view the most revered tournament at the most famous golf course.

A bit OT, but I really dig the flag golf ball you've got as your avatar, golf gal. Cool.

    • Day 1 - First chipping and pitching. Focus on a better grip, the fundamentals and taking the club back on plane, not outside. Feels good. Then some full swings. Focus on improving the setup. Weight more forward, more bent over, and same grip stuff.
    • Congrats on the improvement. Cheers for lots of continued improvement in the future. IMO you've gotta get away from these spots… Those are partly "results" as the work will begin on things earlier in the swing. Good luck.
