Anybody played this wedge yet? I just ordered it online to replace my Cleveland 588.

Driver - Taylormade R9
3 Wood - Titlelist 909F2 15.5 degrees

2H - Nickent

4H - Taylormade
Irons - Mizuno MP-63 5-PW
Wedges - Titlelist 52 and 60 and Cleveland CG-15 56
Putter - Scotty Cameron Stainless Steel NewportBall - Pro V or V1

I have a 52* and a 56*. I find them a very very good choice of wedges, they are good from just about any lie. You may find that you will get way more spin then your previous wedges. My first day on the course with them I hit a 100-yd shot on the green a little long and it spun back about 12-13 feet. They are also weighted differently.

i haven't played the cg14. but, i got the cg12 54.12 for christmas to replace my sand wedge.

So the deal is done? Can't go wrong with your purchase.

Yet check out what the Cleveland tour pros are playing...usually a telltale sign of "what's the best". Woody's a 588 guy. Singh is loyal to the 900 series. Flesch and Boo are CG10 guys. Now, the webmaster could be lazy, too -- since Cleveland got bought out by Srixon recently, etc. http://clevelandgolf.com/player_directory.html

i demo'd them today along w/ cg12, vokey sm. cg14 has softer feel than cg12. i think the gel back does absorb some shocks.
but vokey still feels softer :p
bought it right away.

I havent played the new CG14 but I just picked up a 588 rtg 60* today and love it! Was there anything about your old 588 you didnt like?

In my BX56:

No I loved the wedge but a hundred rounds and at least that many times on the range wore out the face. Thought I would go with the latest and greatest and I did get them from rockbottomgolf

      I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
