The obvious challenge will be for Looper to find courses that will waive the cart fee that's often built in to the cost of the round.  If they won't do that, I doubt that many will opt to even try the service.  If they can't keep the caddies busy, they'll struggle to maintain their stable and will fall short when there is demand.  It's a vicious circle.

The second challenge will be convincing golfers that, even with a waived cart fee, the benefit of playing with a caddie is worth significantly more than what the would pay in that aforementioned cart fee.  Some will, but given how price sensitive so many golfers are these days, I don't know how many will voluntarily tack on another $20 - $40 for the privilege.

I started my love of golf as a caddie a loooong time ago and bemoan the lack of caddie programs, even at most private clubs these days.  I salute the effort and hope they're successful, but they have a long, uphill battle ahead of them!

We've had their contact info at the pro shop at Stoneleigh off and on, but I'm not sure anyone has used them.  I've also seen it at MidPines, Talamore, and MidSouth, but again I'm not sure that anyone has tried them.  I've enjoyed having a caddie a few times, both for the personality and for their detailed knowledge of the course.  I'd be pretty surprised if a caddie from Looper would have the level of course knowledge that would make it a positive thing, and I wouldn't want to hire just a "bag-carrier".  On the other hand, this type of service could be a way to develop a pool of caddies to service a number of courses, without any individual course going through the effort to develop their own caddie program.

Unless the guy can read greens and know the course im playing then I wouldnt do it.Honestly a guy whos going to spend 4 hours of his time with you at the course and actually knows all this probably isnt going to be cheap.
