I'm not a father, that my nephew in my avatar, but I still have a dad!

He absolutely loved hitting the Titleist 915D2, so I bought him that, along with the matching fairway 3 wood. My sister bought him a new Scotty Cameron, while my mom bought him a golf bag and new Vokey's along with 3 boxes of the 2017 proV1. I got him irons last year, So his bag is full with the last clubs he'll ever need. He's 56 and not the type to just buy brand new clubs.

We were at Hunter Liggett and the scenery was great but it was hot.  Record temperatures for this time of year in the 100-110 range.  Our tents were 125 degrees + during the day.  Some of our training had to be curtailed due the heat.  We're a CSH and put up our hospital in Cat 5 heat over 3 days.  After that we had air conditioning but it had a hard time keeping up.   No heat injuries until the final day when the commander wanted to do a final formation at 1430 and hand out awards...

Yeah, it's hot there too, but more trees to find 95 degree shade.  And that's common sense from your CDR ;-)

The history behind that place is fascinating, and we found the back road that takes you out to highway 1 and the beach. A pretty long private driveway once upon a time.

    • Day 246 - Backswing work, working up to full swings.
    • Not nearly as often as I used to.  Since I changed to Pure grips, they hardly ever seem to need cleaning nearly always grippy  With my previous grips  It was always very noticeable after you had cleaned them, not so much now.
    • I am in the market for some new irons. I have been looking at the Maltby line and trying to figure out which ones I should go with. I need budget friendly thats why I am looking into these. Currently I play old Callaway razr X irons with true temper shafts. What is the recommendation for game improvement and forgiveness
    • Day 136 (15 Sep 24) - Got in a solo round late this afternoon.  With a solid ENE wind of 10-15 mph it was about playing the wind - hurting wind going out (played 2 clubs up), helping coming in (played 2 clubs down).  Shot a solid 80 (39 front / 41 back).  The most fun was hitting tee shots and approaches that rode the wind.  A great afternoon of course management focused on working with the wind.
    • Day 60: played 18. Shot a decent 79, but also finished 6-7 to shoot that. Oh well.
