The bold is very late.

100%. I've been guilty my entire time golfing of trying to fit everything imaginable into the .25 second downswing. Sometimes I think it's partly influenced by my backswing length and that if things were slightly longer on the way back, they'd be better synced up on the way down. I also kind of lack a transition.

Was doing the practice swing drill today a decent bit where I was feeling like as the club got to the top, the feel of the weight was shifting me forward and initiating the fall into the lead leg. I loved this drill before for this reason and because I need to stop thinking of the golf swing as backswing and downswing.

You start pushing forward at P2. You start visibly moving forward at P3. Waiting until the top is way too late, yeah.

Still got a slight lateral shift off of the ball while getting forward really early. Rotation was lacking especially through impact, but I'm not concerned. Pushing the exaggeration of the falling on the lead foot feel. I remember this contact feeling decent. Trail foot does a weird lil Scottie slide; I hope that isn't a trail foot push and is more indicative of not much pressure being there. I'd put money on the latter given I'm in spikes and the foot seems relatively frictionless.

Starting to take more divots (good).

Change the picture on this length of shot first. Then move on.

Quick setup note: flare out the trail foot. Wyndham Clark TPI video had some great info on this (this forum does as well). I think I'm a candidate for this doing some good stuff in terms of freeing up the hips a little bit. I'm extremely square here.

Trail foot needs to feel like it's flared out a lot to get it where I need it (this ain't it). Essentially, more hips everything except early shift off of ball (this is plenty). More rotation on backswing, more shift to target on late backswing and more rotation through ball. Work on a hip feel tomorrow.

So much better I THINK. Bringing focus back to the center of the pelvis. Slightly less sway. More rotation. Because of the better pivot, weight and pressure shift was just by default better. Reverse spine angle kinda took care of itself. I think excess sway does something a little/lot funky. Flared feet can be done slightly more. Slightly wider stance is really good. I've got wide-ass hips.

Going to be starting Evolvr in the next week or so. Then potentially plans for a visit to Erie later in the year.

You can text this fellow. He co-hosts a podcast that's in the top bar on this site, I think. 🙂

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
