Not the greatest place to get a lesson, loud music, loud people, keep getting interrupted for food and drink. Hey, it's not unlike the typical work jail space.

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

Going out to Portland next week and the facility is very close to where I'll be staying.  I may see if some of the guys want to go one night.  Never been but would like to try sometime.  Given some of the comments here it sounds like you want to go with a larger group to help with not only the cost but also the fun-factor.

you can have six people in each bay and the cost is for sure better when you spread it among all six.  The pricing is per hour regardless of the number of players; two or six, same hourly rate.

Make sure you get someone to set you up.  You can end up wasting a lot of time just trying to figure out how to get everyone entered into the computer system correctly.

The food is good.  It seems reasonably priced too.  I think it is booze that really spikes the cost of the evening, but that is the case no matter where you go.

As others have said, it is more about going out and socializing while whacking some balls.  The system is well thought out and the basic TopGolf game works well.  I've not played other game options.  Music, flat screens with sports everywhere, scores for each player automatically calculated and displayed on big screen, drinks, food.  It is a good time.

if you take your golf game so seriously you can't go do this and enjoy yourself, well, maybe you take your golf game too seriously.  TopGolf doesn't bill itself as a place to come build your golf skills.  Its entertainment.

    • It’s possible the graphite shaft has a small internal crack or a delamination. Tapping it and hearing a vibrating sound is usually a sign the shaft isn’t behaving as it should. Since the store wasn’t helpful, consider taking it to a club fitter or a pro shop that can check the shaft flex and integrity. If it’s defective, you might be able to get a replacement from the manufacturer.
    • It’s interesting how much a 3D system changes your understanding. Observing top players in full detail and realizing the trail knee shouldn’t fully extend is a great example of why being open to new info is so important. I like your approach: not trying to be “right,” but trying to teach correctly based on actual evidence. Makes sense why golfers would benefit from this perspective.
    • I would say both are equally not the best for golf. Is it better than nothing, sure.  Golf is an athletic motion. Professional golfers are doing a comprehensive workout routine focusing on strength, power, flexibility, stability. They might include some yoga into the routine. I would put both of them in the recovery bin, not golf enhancement bin.  If you want to increase swing speed, core strength, longevity in golf and life, then lift heavy weights.
