Ft. Belvoir Course in Virginia

My wife played this a couple weeks ago in a Career Ladies golf tournament and she said the course was in horrible condition.  I've heard from others that the course was in terrible shape as well.  Way better courses in the area to play.

Try Greendale, it's a decent muni track operated by Fairfax County Park Authority and it's not far from Ft. Belvoir.  Haven't played it in years, but was enjoyable enough.  Should be able to do 9 there.

I thought of Laurel Hill, but since he only could play 9 holes, that's a far better track to play all 18.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I looked at Laurel Hill, but they did not have and tee times listed for 9 holes.  I looked at going there before I finally booked Jefferson in Falls Church.

Are you playing as a single?  If so, you're going to be paired up regardless.  Give them a call.  There's no reason that they won't let you play 9 and drop out at the turn...

Not since the mid-90's.  It was decent then.  Not much help.  Lots of geese (poop) then and a few of the holes could get soggy (bad drainage) though I'd be surprised if the drainage hasn't been improved in the last 20 years.

 

Andrews AFB was a bit more typical and nicer then also.
