Hi guys - looking for some advice - I have what is known as a double negative - too much forward hip slide on the downswing coupled with my hands dropping significantly on the top of the backswing - all this adds up to a push to the right between 12/14 degrees. Sometimes it comes back, and sometimes it doesnt.

Anybody have any tips/drills for this? The slide I can control, but the hands dropping, no luck so far.

Thanks in advance!

Best

Do you have video?

What if you feel that the hands go horizontally out to start the transition into the downswing? So rather than down, they go out?

Thank you for your reply, Erik.

Here's a video of my swing. A few months ago, i had developed the shanks and to counter them, I started taking my backswing out instead of straight back (you'll notice it in the video quite clearly).

And lastly, I have not tried the 'feel it going out' thing before - will defo try tomorrow on the range.

Please post videos to YouTube or Vimeo, and then embed them. Also, look at creating a Member Swing topic.

The hands have to drop to create some "steepness" because of how shallow the backswing is. Also seems like you've been told to swing out to the right. You actually do this too much and your hips are square at impact.

Looking forward to your input!

Start a swing thread and I'll give you my thoughts.
