I have not, but if you check golfdiscussions.com there are lots of Geek reviews. I plan to buy one just based on the reviews. Low Launch low spin. Buy a higher loft than you are used to for a couple reasons:

1. TaylorMade, Callaway, Cleveland, Titleist drivers have more loft than marked (my Cleveland Launcher Comp marked 10.5 degrees turns out to e 12 degrees!). My friend's Callaway FT-5 9.5 is actually 10.5! We took several drivers to a fitter to have them measured. No wonder my comp goes so high! Looks like a pitching wedge in flight.

2. Geek puts weight behind the sweet spot which makes the ball spin less and launch a few degrees lower.
3. Apparently if a Dot Com This is marked 9 degrees, it IS 9 degrees!

In most brands, I need a 9.5, in Geek I'm deciding between 10.5 & 12.

Are these USGA conforming? They look pretty neat. I'm not in the market for a new driver anytime soon, but if they do a demo day, I would be tempted to at least hit one a few times.

I've got a 10.5* Aldila VS Proto 70-S combo @45.5"
Only hit it in a simulator though. When the weather breaks I'll break it in. From everyone I've spoken to and ALL the reviews, I'd say it'll be a keeper. Got a 3 wood and 5 wood also. The 3 wood isn't going anywhere and I built the 5 wood today.

In most brands, I need a 9.5, in Geek I'm deciding between 10.5 & 12.

I know this thread started over a month ago, but I thought it best to comment on this line right here. Firstly, even the component heads are all going to be +-1 degree or so. That is, a 10.5 could be anywhere between 9.5 and 11.5. This is on contrast to most OEM heads that will say 9.5, and their loft will be between 9.5 and 12 -- they almost never are below their marked loft. However, and this is the big thing, when you order a component head, almost no one would give you a second thought if you asked for a "hand picked" one to be exactly the loft you want. That is, if you want an 11 degree driver head, just ask for a head that has been hand-measured to be exactly 11 degrees. You don't have to waiver between 10.5 and 12 -- you can split the difference with an 11.25 head if you want, or anything in between. Just another perk of going with a component head.

I bought one with a Matrix Ozik Xcon 6 shaft. It's marked 12 degree, but was handpicked at 11. This combination is the bomb. I took it to the range twice this weekend. It has a great flat launch and carries a long way, then runs on landing. It feels really solid, I would compare the feel to either the old Taylor Made R510 DF or maybe R510 TP. If you've hit either, you'll know what I mean. It's kicking the other drivers out of my bag.

Next one will have a 6X07 in it for comparison.

    • Can't brag about a 50 last night but it was the best round of my season (4 rounds of 9 holes) so I am not as upset as I could be.  One thing I am noticed is that I got a little more confident in my long hybrids and I attempted a couple longer shots that typically I would just lay up and those holes were a big part of the lower score.  Not every shot was great but good enough that they helped.  I even shot par on a Par 5 after taking a drop.  On that hole I would usually lay-up to @ 100 yards and often miss the green altogether with my 3rd shot (or worse chunk my approach and put it in the waste area).  Yesterday I went for it from @ 200 yards out with wind in my face and landed in the waste area short of the green.  My drop left @ 40 yards in and I stuck it to 3 feet for my par putt.  If I had laid up I would have avoided the penalty stroke but likely would not have been on the green in regulation and may still have been working for par.  By going for it I gave myself a chance at birdie and still saved par. I do not plan on being crazy aggressive but I think I tend to be too conservative at times so I will "go for it" a little more often going forward.
    • Day 14 (15 May 24) - Worked with the SW in the backyard, short pitches from 10yds up to 30yds.   Focused on ball placement in stance - ball back, ball forward, ball center.  Afterwards moved to inside the shop to work on putting pace on the rug - putting one way gives about an 8' putt, going the other a 6' before bumping onto the adjacent rug.  Focused there on the line - picking a target point about 18"-24" out and making sure the ball rolls through that point.
    • When someone is trying to validate their choice, statements concluding with "right" are often the MO.  Too bad he thinks he has to keep defending his decision, just do like guys like DJ and HVIII - take the money, play the tourneys and keep quiet.
    • I liked Rory talking about keeping it shallow. I think a lot of people imagine steep as really steep. Trackman has a PW attack angle at 5 degrees. Pitch shots you probably want less than 5-degrees.  Here is 5 degrees, the dashed line. It isn't much at all.  People probably need to feel like the club is stupidly shallow if they hit it really steep.  Some good tidbits of information though.
    • Hey, many thanks in identifying those.
