Microsoft Movie Maker for 2017

In looking for alternatives to produce videos and editing I see there is a way to d/l the old MS Movie Maker from a 3rd party that provides the old links and scripts to Microsoft Essentials which was discontinued in January 2017.  The site appears to d/l authentic MS programs and is safe. It is a free download. Here is the URL

Has anyone done this?  It is supposed to be legit and provides the credentials of what you are downloading during the d/l/.

After seeing your post, I decided to download it and give it a go.   It is legit and works well.   I'm running the latest Windows 10 and the only issue I encountered was the lack of an icon on the desktop.   This was easily fixed.

@dennyjones, Thanks. My concern was  that it would also download another unwanted program in the background. Usually this consists of adware. I will keep it bookmarked for now.  Please let me know if you run into problems in the future.

There is an option to only install the moviemaker.   You have to unselect (is that a word?) other parts of the Live Essentials so they won't install.

Yeah, I noticed that as well. It requires only that you install Photo Gallery and Movie Maker as a package I believe and to not install the other components such as messenger and their email program. I only would like to be able to edit videos by trimming out beginning, add other videos, and allow transitions between the segments. There are better programs but for basic stuff, I think MM fits the bill.  Now if I can only remember how to use it as I did awhile back.
