Living in the mid Atlantic area, our golf season is coming to an end. So now comes the offseason plan:

At 49, I believe your plan needs to match what your body can accomplish.

Here it is:

Cross fit class 1 x a week

Lift using my body weight and multiple reps using lighter weight 1 x a week

Combo day - exercise utilizing two body pars - for example - working the core and legs

Squash 1 x week - aerobic exercise.

Current weight - 194  will post weight every week

Marv - Speak with your doctor!!! See what she/he has to say

Yup...First one sent me to a sports medicine guy who sent me to a specialist who did EMG, I got back to the sports medicine guy Tuesday to "read" the EMG report which I know says severe on the right and severe minus on the left. Pain is much more than I realized and I'm taking WAY too many OTC pain meds. I'll go with any recommendations...injections or surgery...except amputation. -Marv

That sucks Marv,  good luck.  Both hands...how are u going to use the bathroom!!

My winter...I continue taking as many Crossfit classes as I can get too.  Going to buy the Super speed golf program and since I work at an indoor golf place, I'll hit balls and play on the SIM.

My only issue is both shoulders hurt.  Left one the most and it's starting to hurt with golf a little.  I have my physical next month but the Dr. Will just send me to a specialist, my wife will tell at me because of the cost..yada, yada, yada...I'll just live in pain.

LOL! That subject of not doing both at the same time actually has come up, once from a retired nurse friend who said "How will you clean your a...?" Fortunately, I now know surgery will be on the right and injections on the left. My problem is that this started September 28 and the surgery will be November 27, so will be about December 20 before I can swing a club.

My Doc says he is amazed at how stem cell injections have worked on even older knees and shoulders. Apparently we have several local doctors doing it regularly. After the carpal is taken care of, I'm going to look into it for my blown-out knee. Cost might be an issue because insurance/Medicare may not cover it, but still way less than surgery.  Anyway, just a thought to consider for shoulders. Best wishes, -Marv

Hello Typhoon92....what's happening with the shoulders?  With the off season here, it may be a good time to see what might be possible to rehab as much as possible and put off any further problems so you can keep with playing and living with less pain.  Let me know if I can help in any way.

I said I would post every week but I have been very late.

Still doing the classes and squash.

My weight is the same but have more energy. It appears that I am burning fat.
