Day 243 (2 Jan 25) - Grandson directed drills today - he wanted to hit easy pitches into the holes of the Martin bird house (had it at ground level) - it is doable but it calls for a perfectly executed shot.  He came close a couple of times.  For me it’s about distance control and such.  Drill two - me hit same foam balls to him while he’s in the swing saucer - into a slight wind…now it’s distance control plus anticipating the wind.  A fun exercise - got really close on a number of shots.  Drill three - take his youth Cobra SW and hit flops into to the foam ball basket while he was holding it. Great eye-hand work for him - wedge control for me.  That little wedge  works well.  By the end my junior coach was done and I was too….

Day 94 - 2025-01-02

Not a lot of time today due to snow, but I got some time in. Still not the HackMotion work I wanted to do, though.

Day 23: 1/3/2025

Had a long range session yesterday. It was pretty cold out there. Today it was colder than a brass toilet seat in the Yukon. So, I decided not to go to the outdoor range today. I did put in some solid slo-motion practice in front of the mirror. One of the things I wanted to focus on was making sure my left rear sit-bone was going back away from the ball and not up away from the ball.

That was one of the things I picked up from the video I took of myself at the range yesterday.

Today was mostly slow motion in front of the mirror with a focus on driving my lead leg to push the carpet toward the ball as I jump away from it.

Day 3: 1/2/25

Indoor chipping followed by putting through 50 mm gates from 11”. Good session.

Hitting through a 2 inch gate from 11 feet is impressive. I usually use my 2 inch gate at about 3 feet, no more.
Good job out of you.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Day 95 - 2025-01-03

Light day again, mostly because Natalie gets very annoyed when she has to spend more than the time she wants to spend at the academy at the academy. 😛 So, I did work at home while watching a video.

Day 244 (3 Jan 24) - Friday men’s group round - a really solid front nine at one over 37 from the gold tees. Out of the 8 pars - six were up and downs…the lone bogie included a water ball penalty stroke.  At the turn, game shifted to my typical reality as it was a 45 with open and close dbls on 10 and 18, with five bogies and two pars strewn in between. Still a solid 82 overall - with 28 total putts (incl one 3 putt) 5 GIR and 5 nGIR.
Oh the highlight of the day - the ladies’ teaching pro was in our foursome and she was very complimentary of my overall approach and wedge game.  It made those drills in the backyard well worth the time spent.

I wish! Double quotes are inches and a single quote is feet! It was just 11 inches, my friend, @ChetlovesMer

Day 2

1 hour of range work, muni range in Van Nuys. Focusing still on weight shift, starting forward shift earlier. Seeing some progress. Little bit of chipping work.

Day 245 (4 Jan 24) - Colder blustery day (temps in the upper 30’s), so I opted to work with the 7i in the back yard, hitting 30-40 yds pitches.  Stayed within pre-shot process and working smoothly thru downswing and ball.  Nice easy day reinforcing short game work in the pitch and roll arena.

Day 96 - 2025-01-04

Fighting it. Keeping my streak alive, but not by a lot. Got all of seven minutes or so in today. Maybe eight. 😛 Still backswing. Trip next week might be interesting, ha ha. Not gonna worry about it.

Day 25: 1/4/2025

Mirror day. I did some good mirror work with a 7 iron. Once again focus here is on pushing the carpet away with my lead leg. Sort of like I'm sitting in a office chair and want to scoot across the room.

Later, I used the putting mirror on the putting mat. Rolling 8 footers down a straight line on the mat.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

Day 351 - Went to a new golf sim in the area, pretty cool place. Not sure why, but it seems I always have more of a draw/hook on sims than on the course. I still played well, but just odd.

There is no relief under Rule 16.1: When playing the ball as it lies would be clearly unreasonable because of something from which the player is not allowed to take free relief (such as when a player is unable to make a stroke because of where the ball lies in a bush), or  When interference exists only because a player chooses a club, type of stance or swing or direction of play that is clearly unreasonable under the circumstances. Either/both of the above would seem to apply
