Day 11: 2026.01.13

Just managed some mirror work, trying to increase rotation of right hip during backswing. Feels better but need to film it when actually making contact.

Day 24 - 2026-01-13

Solid 45 minutes of range work. Mostly good, finding I'm hitting a lot of balls to right field but I'm OK with that right now.

Day 153 1-13

Felt mucg more comfortable with the arching wrist in downswing. Still working on reconnecting arm as well. Hit a few foam balls and recorded swings. Paused swings and plenty of rehearsals.

Day 470 - 2026-01-13

Was going to set up GEARS Hybrid but… had a lesson or two move and got a lot of Skillest lessons later in the morning/afternoon. Then Tomlin quit, so… I just stayed after lessons to get some practice in that way.

Day 13, 1/13.  Thinking about yesterday's round led to me to realize I don't stretch enough, and I dedicated some time today to various golf-related stretches.

Had GEARS Hybrid set up for some students and so I got some swings in. Pelvis turn is better.

Worked on backswing. Didn't hit any balls but did record. Also checked grip and setup.

Day 14, 1/14.  When I got home from work, I spent 10-15 minutes hitting balls (indoors, real, off a mat, into a net).  Some were 6-iron, some 9-iron, and a few half swings with a wedge.

Hit 20 balls at the range incorporating latest changes. Got some filming done. Keeping a few new things in mind, trying to make sure they are all sticking.

Set up GEARS Hybrid a bit early so got six swings on it with analysis. So much faster/easier.

Day 155 1-15

Backswing work focusing in slightly cupped at top. Pausing at the top and then arching wrist. Felt/looked way off to start got better by the end. Hit foam balls. Recorded and used mirror.

45 minutes of range work with some freeze filming for coach. 45 minutes of green short game work. Tried some bad-lie chipping with hybrid.

Day 15, 1/15.  A dozen balls, about twenty minutes, 6-iron, indoors, off a mat, into the net, with real balls.  My focus today was making sure my swings were slow and I stopped the backswing where I'm trying to.

      Day 295 6-26 Low point control with towel again. Getting better but not swinging fast enough tonight.

      Shot a 37 today! Palmer Course, PGA National. Really fun. 6/9 GIR, no lost balls. The double and the bogey were both three putts from like 35 feet or so.  The birdie at the last was really fun. I stood over that fifteen footer and thought wow I’m really about to make this, aren’t I? And I hearted it. Really fun. It’s like 9000 degrees outside but I battled through it well. Good times.

      I had been in a bit of a slump for the month of June. Handicap index has slowly risen, and there were few sub-80 scores. Today was a different story at Leslie Park GC. Lots of solid shots, GIR's, up & downs, for a 77 (7.8 differential). As with most rounds, there were a few loose shots and crappy putts, but it was a good day.

      Day 6  (26 Jun 26) - Played 18 today in the Friday men's group shootout.  Would love to say it was an awesome round, but it wasn't  - had a tough day with the putter (especially on the front - short putts missing left or right or just short - just could not get a feel for the greens).
