Day 3 (3 May 25) - played 18 (went solo) this afternoon at one of sister courses to my regular course.  Went with the three tee box format (Golld-White-Red as this adds a mix to the “I always play this club as my approach on this hole” routine).  The front presented issues as  the greens are suffering from the heat and lack of rain.  Add in 15-20 mph gusty winds and it’s not a walk in the park. It really made the approach reads a little hard to figure out - of the 3 pars on the front, two were GIR, the other a nGIR.  The rest were coming up short and that meant a lot of two putt bogies and a big old dbl- managed a 43.  The back greens are not suffering as bad and were more receptive to rolls of the rock. Finished that side with a two over 37 (par 35) that included 6 GIR that resulted in 5 para and 1 birdie, the other 3 were two putt bogies.  Was a good test of course management and not being afraid to club up or down.

Day 33 - Tournament today, my buddy and I took 2nd. Really happy with all facets of my game; the extra practice is paying off. Plenty of room for improvement, but still nice to put together a good round.

Day 9: Worked on shots from 40 yards and in focusing on keeping my weight forward. Thanks to the grass length in the backyard, I got a lot of practice from heavy rough.

Mirror work on the backswing here at home, as well as a lot of thought.

Day 4 (4 May 25) - between long day of obligations and much needed rain, opted for a few moments of easy rolls with the putter on the carpet - rolling lags to varied distances from 10’ down to 5’.

After concluding a 54 hole weekend I start some back to the basics work and spent a half hour with a club folded against my chest feeling my shoulders rotate and as they “unrotated” my weight shift from a 50/50 distribution to my left leg (I’m right handed). I think I need basic drills I can repeat, repeat, repeat so I can get it engrained into my swing.

Day 14:Cinco de Mayo

Stack Session 11/24. After hitting a new high during Full Speed Spectrum last session I hit ny lowest today. Completed training after a weight lifting program which likely slowed me down.

Day 5 (5 May 25) - Wedge gauntlet today - 25 balls, 4 wedges, mixture of shot shapes.  Started with the 54, moved to the 50 then to the 58 and finishing with the 45. Goal was simple - from 20-25 yds, keep the balls all within 15’ circle, at three different target stations.  The 54 is still the most accurate, but it is my main short game wedge.  Was a good session working the clubs and varied shot shaping.

Day 217 - 2025-05-05

Got an hour of practice in today. Shorter backswings lead to more shaft lean and lower shots with better contact. But the downswing is still the main deal.

Day 2 Spent another 15 minutes simply working on my grip and holding a club to my chest and working on my turning and rotation. Boring but I think it really is going to help with my tempo.

Day 3 - Knocked a few balls around with the flat stick this morning with a left hand down hand position (I’m a right handed player). I’ve had a few different putters in my hand recently trying different weights. I’m looking for smooth club movement and seemingly think L hand down feels smoother. Going out this evening at nice little 9 holes Lost Spur CC about a mile from the house.

Day 6 (6 May 25) - early morning nine hole round with my good friend Mike.  Played a six-club setup (7w-5h-7i-9i-54-Putter) as we were playing up a set of tees.  Solid thru - 3 pars, 4 bogies, wheels came off on last two with dbls on each.  Still a good round of working on shot planning and making less than full swings.

    • Bryson got hit with a 2 shot penalty, after the round, for improving his lie on hole 5.  Here is a post on X, showing how he stepped on high grass when he was looking down his target line.  When they cut to the side shot, you can see how close he was behind the ball.  I think the R&A probably made the correct decision. You just have to be really careful when you are walking in the high grass, around the ball and where you are to make a swing.

    • Day 27 (17 July 26) - Normally an 18 hole day, but due to commitments abbreviated the round to 9 holes (played the back nine at home course).  Had a solid session where even the worst miss (tee shot off 18) was fully playable.  Shot a solid 39 (6pars, 3bogies) - not dbls, no three putts - just boring golf.
    • Overall, well said. People have to be very careful in trying to describe very complex problem in simple terms. In this case, it is a clear fundamental misunderstanding of Newton's 1st and 3rd laws.  To clarify more on the misinterpretation of Newton's 1st law. The exact interpretation of Newton's 1st Law....  "Every body continues in its state of rest, or of uniform motion in a straight line, unless it is compelled to change that state by forces impressed upon it" yea, a body will stay motionless unless a force acts upon it. An object will stay on its path of motion unless a force acts upon it.  I get it, complex physics problems are difficult. There is a lot of simplification done in most physics class when it is taught. A classic problem uses a frictionless surface. Projectile motion excludes drag and wind direction. Collisions are usually elastic. The golf swing is not a simple physics problem.  Yea, I think they got caught up the data on the graphs and are not truly understanding cause and effect.  If the golfer isn't first pushing into the ground, then the ground isn't going to push back.  The internal forces of the body create the motion, not the external forces from the ground. The ground isn't like what Psy uses to start his concert. 🤣 You probably need to be connected to the ground and have those GRF to help the body produce the motion you want. Your body has to move in the right way to produce the GRF which helps you move the body in the way you want. Body motion precedes the GRF.
