"5 Minutes Daily" Practice Challenge

Day 340: busy day, but squeezed in some mirror work in my patio door. Working on the same wrist and downswing stuff.

Once again I forgot my grip,spent 1 hour hitting balls trying to find it again,did so and really enjoyed hitting golf balls,I really am pitiful using any of the normal golf grips,I either top the ball of take a fat chunk out of the turf but now I found my own grip I can really enjoy the game again

Day 269 - 2025-06-26

Bunch of blender drills with foam balls. Really breaking it down again. 🙂

Day 12 - 15 minutes or so of some indoor setup/grip stuff then dialing in a hip feel while meal prepping. Messing around with gripping the club while it's soled instead of in the air. I don't think I've ever really had a palmy grip problem (the main reason to grip with the club head pointing into the air), and this just helps me grip with slightly less pressure. I'd still crush the baby bird, but it'd be slightly less gruesome.

Day 57 (26 Jun 25) - Last day of grandson’s golf camp - on course for he and the others, so it was a good day to play a few solo holes.  Was a solid session - played 10 holes came away 1 over (2 birdies, 3 bogies, 5 pars)….maybe all those hours in the bunker working with the campers helped with my ball striking as a whole….

Day 341: did the yardstick putting drill for about 10 minutes. Need to feel a tiny bit of a pull for a straight one.

Day 270 - 2025-06-27

Worked after lessons with the tiny little club on the blender type stuff. Really easy to get the path to like 6° or 7° out.

Day 13 - spent like 2 hours in a small park practicing some short game stuff. TPI short game revelation of best chippers in the world moving center of mass up, towards the target, and away from the ball is probably the single most important short game concept to grasp. Feel those movements pretty aggressively. Wrists must release. Hands feel like they don't move much, clubhead moves a lot.

Day 58 (27 Jun 25) - Played in the weekly men’s shootout today - pretty solid round overall with an 82 (43/39).  Had some great looks for birdie - putter failed on several with 3 putts.  Approach game kicking up a notch with 8 of 18 GIR…off the tee staying steady with 8 of 15 fairways hit….

Day 342: range session. Spent 15 focused minutes on my wrist stuff at slow speed. Then just worked on where the ball is going for another 30 minutes.

Day 343: played 9 holes. Shot a +3 with 7 GIR. 2 bad three putts aside, I played really well.

Day 271 - 2025-06-28

Mirror work. Hiked, bargain shopped, ate a pretzel and half of three fried pies… Going in early tomorrow to get some practice in, install a double ethernet card, and vent the building a bit.

Day 59 (28 Jun 25) - late afternoon session with the 56° focused on short sided style up and down pitches and chips.  Goal was simple - get the shots to finish within 6’ dia circle.  Max distance was 15yds down to 5yds.

Day 14 - mirror swings to dial in a hip feel. Left hip IR is even worse than the right. Really bullish on the mobility stuff I'm working on.

Day 15 - played 18 holes on a pretty short course (~5900 yards) and shot a 92. Iron play = new hip feel I'm working on. Driver = feel pressure surf diagonally from trail inside ball of foot to lead heel. Short game = feel the COM move up, to the target, away from ball. Putting = much longer stroke than you think you need.

Day 272 - June 29, 2025

Practiced for 45 minutes while cooling the building.

Day 60 (29 Jun 25) - waited till it was late afternoon cool before working with the 56° wedge in the backyard a little.  Primary focus - smooth finish (based on a tip from the course pro from the jr golf camp last week)….really tightened up the dispersion.

Day 344: long travel day, so just did the yardstick putting drill in my hotel room when I got there.
