Day 273 - 2025-06-30

Hit balls for 20 minutes (foam balls) while feeling the downswing piece. It still squares up.

Erik J. Barzeski —  I knock a ball. It goes in a gopher hole. 🏌🏼‍♂️

Day 62 (1 Jul 25) - Wind picked up so temps were a bit cooler - played a solo nine from the white’s (one set back) with the caveat - driver, metal woods and hybrids  can only be used on tee shots (no where else), irons in full play as usual and more than usual on the longer holes.  Made for some different course management thoughts (as I had to think more about wind hurt and help with the constant S winds - and playing more than the usual number of holes for up and down for par.  Shot 5 over 41 - no doubles….also mixed in some fairway bunker work (not that I’m in them that much - just good practice for when I do go there).

Day 63 (2 Jul 25) - weekly 9 hole round with my friend Mike.  Played up a set of tees to where he plays.  Hole one is a vary short par 4 at 215 yds - drive the green (a first) for a stress free two putt birdie…rest if the round was average for me….was a good round of working from different distances off the tee.

Day 64 (03 Jul 25) - After yesterday’s round, I was telling the course pro that he needed to be on the Champions Tour.  He commented his game was no where it should be and was planning to work on swing drills where he is standing on his lead foot only and making practice swings - no hitting balls.  Took me back to the drills series Erik over at TST did during April of ‘20 during the C-19 lockdown.  It was the Day 16 drill called the Double Stork…work thru the swing on the trail foot with lead on tip toe and then switch weight to lead foot and tip toe the trial.  All about getting the weight in the right places.  Did a similar variant today - focused on the lead foot (my nemesis), making focused swings adding a few hard foam balls in the mix.  Good revisit back to some solid basics.

Played nine holes. Flushed a lot of the shots, some were just a little left. So the backswing is feeling pretty good.

Day 65 (4 Jul 25) - “Happy Independence Day”….got in some work with the 54° wedge in the staying with the double stork drill (really just half as I worked on weight solidly on the lead foot (which is touch with no toes (motorcycle wreck in ‘16 - long story)) and staying balanced)…after 9 yrs this is still a big nemesis as I revert to relying on the trail foot.  This drill is one of my throw backs to teaching me to trust putting weight on the rebuilt foot.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
