Day 329 - 2025-08-25

Went downtown early this morning. Wasn't feeling it, but made myself hit 48 balls in batches of like six at a time, ha ha. Recorded a swing, too. Used mirrors.

Day 2: 8/25/25

Chipped in 4 balls tonight using 3 balls at a time going to each hole, sinking 2 in a row in one set. Decided to hit the range. Good session. Listened to th Fully Equipped podcast over the weekend and the Titleist fitter said you should have a 20 mph spread between your 7-iron and driver club head speed. 7-iron was in the 92-95 mph range but driver was around 106. Driver is slower than normal but I haven’t hit much since April.

Day 12 8-26

Played some holes over lunch with my boss. First time really playing since May. I don't have loads of free time, so I focus on practicing when I do get some. I'm sure it will change to more playing as I get better. Focused on grip and setup. Hit the ball well overall and exceeded my expectations. Practiced some chipping and pitch shots for 10 minutes before the round. I know golf can be fickle, but I am excited to see more of my practicing becoming muscle memory after today.

Day 2 - (26 Aug 25) - Church men’s golf nine hole Captains choice.  Had grandson as part of our group - was a blast watching him drill the putts.  Love these no pressure sessions - great for going outside the norm on club selection.

Day 15 (August 26).  I missed practice yesterday, but otherwise had a 14-day streak going into it.  Somehow, some of my posts for this appear in my profile but I can't seem to see them (I hope I didn't break any rules that would cause them to be removed).  I am hoping I'll be able to keep doing some practice while I'm out to regain the red text.

Context:  am on vacation, this week with friends.

What was today's actual practice? Today, a friend and I decided to go to TopGolf;  it was kind of like being at the range with someone else's clubs.  And that's ultimately how I was able to use it for practice:  I don't practice choosing a target, lining up to it, and then hitting often enough;  that's what this place seems to be about.  In any case, we were there for 90 minutes, I was hitting for maybe 35-40 minutes of that time, and I did pick a target each time.

Day 16 (August 27).  Played at Desert Pines Golf Club today, an open to the public Pete Dye design.  The course did what Pete Dye designs do;  I hit 11 GIR and three water hazards.

Day 331 - 2025-08-27

Hit 13 x 3 balls very deliberately today. Short, hinge it behind me, roll it farther behind me. Small variations of the same old stuff.

Day 3 (27 Aug 25) - Easy nine hole round with a couple of friends.  With not so consistent tee shots, today was about scrambling - slowing down to think through the better shot choices and then executing same by staying in the moment.

Day 14 8-28

Used mirror to work on backswing length. Used drill holding two clubs to feel speed in backswing/taking back more with chest. Used camera and recorded a few swings face on where I would pause at the top with the correct backswing position.

Day 4 (28 Aug 25) - Backyard drills with the AW focused on green side style hop and stop pitches.  Big focus on finishing with hands lower to keep the ball lower.

Day 332 - 2025-08-28

Was going to be 18 holes, but it started raining during the 7th, so we played the 8th, teed off on nine, scooped them and came in.

I'm looking forward to a good two-hour session tomorrow.

Day 15 8-29

Backswing drills in mirror. Did quite a few full swings using camera hitting foam balls. Working on slowly implementing changes into full swing.  Then noticed grip and head started getting wonky,  worked on keeping head not turning back in backswing and correct grip.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
