I'm about to buy a set of Titleist 716 forged MB irons. I tried them out indoors and I don't know what they should feel like when hitting range balls. However, it would be nice to know if buying them is a good idea.

What irons to buy is a personal preference. I’m not sure what you are asking. Titliest makes great irons. I have had two sets of Titleist MBs. I really liked both of them. I currently have Callaway Apex MBs. I like them better, but the difference is certainly not a large one.

Are you asking because MBs are more difficult to hit? Because they are, but these are certainly not your grandfather’s blades, the playability and forgiveness of modern blades is much better.

As to how they should feel, a well struck shot should feel extremely solid, but misshits will ring your hands a bit and let you know it was not a great strike. If you are all over the face with your ballstriking musclebacks may not be the best choice.

Hope that helps.
