I liked it from the start, many didn't, but now that it's in its second half, it really is literally taking off, breakneck pace. While it's not the Star Trek of old, imho, it's still Trekkie. This longform read on the opening titles, which I love, s a great deep dive. If you scroll to the bottom, there's a version of the opening without the actors' names.

I wanted to watch it, I've watched and mostly enjoyed every other Star Trek reboot, but I refuse to take on yet another pay subscription service on top of the already ridiculous cost of cable  television.  I wanted to scream last week when I learned I couldn't stream the Farmer's without paying for PGALive.

Sorry.  I'm ranting.  Glad you enjoyed it, and I look forward to when it's available on something I already pay for.

Wait for the show to finish. Find yourself a block of binge time. If you're on Amazon Prime, trial the CBS channel (better subtitle options) or trial All Access directly. Watch it in a couple of days, cancel. Free Disco (that's short for Star Trek Discovery)!

    • Day 159 1-19 Flow drill while attempting to add arch in wrist on downswing. Not where it needs to be but felt good working on swing flow.
    • Day 1 (19 Jan 26) - after a week lay-off due to travels, felt great to get in some drills in the backyard today.  Started with lead arm only short pitches focused on squared face and light divot post ball.  Haven’t done this in a while and it showed, with some skulls and slices.  Settled into easy flighted balls - wrapped up with standard two handed swings.  Good restart to the daily drills.
    • That depends what you do within those two.  Are they your only options?   Check out Fit for Golf if you get a moment.  It's linked on the sidebar;  I did it for two years, stopped for a really bad reason, and I plan to get back to it soon.   Mike Carroll also has a great free podcast about a lot of topics in golf fitness.
    • Day 19, 1/19.  Finished work in time to spend 25 minutes hitting balls (hit 15) indoors, off a mat, into the net.  Usual focus.
    • Day 30 - 2026-01-19 Got 10 minutes in on the mat / net working on exagerrating movements I'm working on. And grip. Also worked with my friendly AI to summarize key negative tendencies I have so that I can build a personal checklist to follow. Will do more mirror work tonight.
