Hello, I bought some clubs at a garage sale. They are old big berthas. My question is what year are they from and what does the letter designation A mean on a club? That is the only stamp on it.

A Wedge = Gap Wedge

A = approach which = gap.

Technically, the "A" stands for Approach.  And as @Shorty pointed out, an approach wedge is the same type of club as a gap wedge.
