Hi everyone, I am new to this forum but not new to golf. I have been a hacker for over a decade and am finally getting more serious about getting better.

I just bought a Zepp 2 and have been getting some good range time with it. In two sessions I corrected my club plane from +13% to -4% pretty consistently. The weird thing is that my hand plane is still positive by about +6-8%?? I do the drills to correct that and it takes a lot of effort to get the hand plane down near 0 but then my club plane goes VERY negative... like -16%. So my question is how important is hand plane if club plane is where it should be and I am hitting nice draws? I assume that not fixing an issue like hand plane could magnify into other parts of my game but I’m not sure.

Thank you for your help.

Welcome! Just wanted to say hello and glad you joined. Amazing site here and you’ll find plenty of very intelligent instructors/players who can offer sound advice. Your question is a bit out of my realm so maybe @iacas can offer something.

There is a ‘My Swing’ thread where you can post videos of your swing and get FREE advice from fellow members. Again, welcome.

I've never necessarily trusted the numbers of such devices. Never mind that your hands can be going left while the clubhead is still going out.

Ok, I’ll probably have to do a video so I can see if they really that different than the club plane. Thank you.

Think about it… the hands aren't in the same place on "the circle" (not that hand path is actually circular) as the clubhead. With an iron, it's ahead of it, which means the hands are going left more than the clubhead. In fact, in a lot of swings, the hands are going up and left around A6, while the clubhead might still be going down and outward at A7.
