I was recently given a set of much more modern irons than what I’m accustomed to. Being so used to compact heads, thin top lines and no offset, its actually kinda intimidating to look down at these newer clubs, even though I know the technology is supposed to help a high handicapper like me.

My question is, are there any adjustments I need to make in my address or swing when playing with offset clubs? From my understanding, the offset is supposed to help keep the hands ahead of the ball, so should I forward tilt the shaft less with offset clubs, or should I just swing the same as I would with my old blades?

Offset can affect the way you aim the face and it helps bring the CoG farther back from the shaft. I don't buy the whole offset gives you more time to close the face stuff.

Just swing them like your blades.

Thanks. I’ve been kinda scared to use them, plus the set is missing a club. I just got a replacement on the bay. When it arrives I might go try them out

Don't overthink it. Just try them and see how they work for you.

Yeah, just put the club head behind the ball as per usual. Good luck, -Marv
