Wondering if I should bring clubs up there in a month or so. Averages saying low 40s to high 50s F, I guess 5-15 degrees celsius so no snow on the ground yet so some courses should be open, no?

Maybe you can call some courses you're interested in and ask them?

That would be the smart thing to do, too lazy to get on the horn, shaking my head at myself. That's what I'm gonna do!

Ah, I found this:

Of course it could be all moot and mother nature literally decides to snow on my parade.

They are and playing conditions can be decent in October, especially if it's early.

November is sketchy though.

Cold + Windy.

Not a very fun time for golf.

As far as courses closing, it really depends on the weather. First major snowfall and they'll close.

Typically most courses are open up here until around end of October.  Snow is generally not an issue until at least the end of November.

End of October is usually the norm, but it's really weather dependent. (For example, a few courses were opened on Christmas Day a few years ago, because there was a warm patch!)

On the other hand, we've had a warmer than usual summer, so this may continue into the fall. I'd say bring the clubs, worst case there's a few good year-round ranges here as well.
