A warning, this video, while no blood is shown, is graphic in that you see 4 people get hit by a truck. I was hesitant to post this, was pretty horrified to see those people get hit, but maybe there is something to be learned from this.

I would guess ideally, hitting the sheep is the best option in terms of preventing other people from getting killed. But if you hit the sheep and it ricochets into someone else's car, that person might brake hard, so you're depending on others to make the same decision.

But if you're going to stop, pull over to the left as much as you can, better yet, keep driving at keep traffic flowing and stop on the right shoulder to take care of accident details there and put some distance between you and the sheep. Also, the transportation department should better figure out how to keep sheep from wandering onto the highway.

This is sad. That's why you don't get out of your car in the middle of the highway.

Apparently, this video is about a year old. I wonder why the blue truck couldn't stop. He had his blinkers on, so was aware of accident. Maybe he had problems with brakes or overloaded? Will try and find out more, but man, searching on this is giving me a lot of unpleasant links and photos, jeez. I'm considering myself to be extra lucky tonight.
