I couldn't open the link, but I have seen pigeons hit with golf balls at the driving range. They were eating grass seeds.

Some years ago some pro (?) golfer got into trouble for hitting a bird that was being bothersome by making noise. He intentionally aimed his shot towards the bird to shut it up.

Stuff happens.

What an a$$hole 😝

My dad’s golfing buddy thinned an iron shot and nailed a geese. Knocked it over and out cold. They thought it was dead until it got up and walked off like it was drunk.

I feel bad for the bird. I don’t think the guy noticed it or never thought he would hit it.

A woman friend of mine hit a goose flush in the side next to a pond. The goose just turned and stared at her unhurt.

I've hit 2 in my 7 years trying to golf, crow at a range and a Canadian goose on the fairway. Wasn't aiming. Felt bad about it. Hit worm burners with hybrid both times. The crow lied on its side, then spread its wings, then flew away as I was walking toward the clubhouse to report it. The goose wasn't phased, although the ball made a loud thud, and he flew off with his crew as I approached him. Got a nickname out of it--Goose thumper.

Was playing when a friend sent his ball up off the first tee and quick as a flash it came down smack in the middle of the fairway.  Next thing a seagull lands just by it.  It happened so fast you could barely believe your eyes.

Seagull was stone cold dead.

I did that in Cherry Point, NC in the 90s.
