What flex would a putter shaft be comparable to?  R, S, X?  Just curious. Every time I look this up I can never find the answer.

Why?

Also, they make putter shafts in different flexes, you know, right? Our Edel fitting kit has "soft" and "standard" putter shafts.

1st- I was kinda just curious

2nd- I like the look of stepped shafts and a majority of putter shafts are smooth.

3rd- my ocd is instigating a project if I can figure it out flex wise.

And no I did not know that.  Can you explain why?  Is for speed of greens?  Do guys swap shafts depending on speed of greens or just have a new one built?

More to do with how a particular golfer feels the way the putter head "loads" and stuff. It's a "feel" thing that can change (help, hinder) a player's distance control.

Just get some putter shafts and put them on a CPM measurement thing. That'll tell you the shaft flex.

Do they make a shaft “that makes putts” for you 😂😂

just kidding. But I had no idea there was different putter shaft flexes. So with that where do you think a putter shaft would match up to.

I think it’s purely an individual feel issue. Snedeker rather ‘pokes’ at the ball so he would probably notice a difference in a ‘stiffer’ shaft then what he’s used to...or a more flexible one as well. I don’t think it’s a set quality as much as for irons/trajectory for example.

Get yourself an old Wilson 8813. Stepped and fluted shaft. Wonderful feel. Great for fast greens
