I have what I don't think is that uncommon of a problem which is to choose a damn swing and build on it. I have been pulled to S&T, One Plane Swing, etc. to try and find that "magic".. What I readily admit is that I never received proper instruction on anything and tried to wing it with books/videos as my guide. Now I find myself with a million swing thoughts every time I stand over the ball. I have hit some great shots but plenty of poor ones. I respect a lot of the people on this forum and their opinions on how to improve. I guess I'm just asking on what's the best way or direction would be to go in. I cannot do lessons right now. I just had a baby and the cost of anything not baby related takes a backseat. I think more than anything I need a kick in the arse. Anything you could offer for direction at this point would truly be appreciated. We just had our first snowfall here in balmy Minnesota so I'm thinking indoor practice will be it.

Also start a Member Swing thread if you haven't already. You can get some free advice there about your specific swing, and if you committed to regularly posting in your swing thread, that might be that extra kick/motivation you need to keep improving.

Although I will say you can build a very solid and functional swing by following the Five Simple Keys listed in the topic above even if you dont start a swing thread.

Start a Member Swing topic and make swings, as much as you can, without thinking about anything. Just hit the ball.

Sounds like a good plan. The mind can be a terrible thing for the golf swing.
