I sort of recall something about not being able to view some things about a person (location, signature, whats in the bag) when using a smartphone browser, is this still the case? Or is there a way i can activate a desktop view with a phone browser?

 

second thing: I’m getting an aggressive popup that I’m fairly certain is a scam, is there a way to block it? Screenshot image attached.

There isn't, because the site is responsive, so it just displays what fits on your screen based on the defined styles.

I'd enable signatures on a mobile device if I could, but with children of the default theme, that's not really possible.

A wider view like you can find on a tablet often displays everything (including signatures).

You can't block it, but I report these URLs to the ad network and they're aggressive about removing them.

They're really frustrating, and I understand that. The best thing you can do is what you did - report it to me, so I can report it to them.

Not sure how to block it (though Google settings detail might work). BUT do NOT respond to that ad. I did, on my phone...It takes you through questions. Next you know, you are having many, many junk calls. Best, -Marv

Yeah, I don’t even hit the x in the upper corner of those popups. If I can’t back out of it I open up the page history and kill the popped-page from there.

One thing to do with these is to just go up to the top and type in “the Sand Trap” and reload the site home page. An Apple forum suggested this as it is supposed to bypass what triggered the pop up.

Word is version 4.4 will allow the option of showing signatures on the mobile version of the site.

I'll consider enabling that when 4.4 is available.

Thank you. As a mobile phone user the two things I miss over the desktop version is seeing people’s location (when they have it) and seeing their WITB lines.

Helps when looking in the for sale area “, and for when wanting to join an outing or get a round of golf going with one or more others.

      Bryson got hit with a 2 shot penalty, after the round, for improving his lie on hole 5.  Here is a post on X, showing how he stepped on high grass when he was looking down his target line.  When they cut to the side shot, you can see how close he was behind the ball.  I think the R&A probably made the correct decision. You just have to be really careful when you are walking in the high grass, around the ball and where you are to make a swing.

      Day 27 (17 July 26) - Normally an 18 hole day, but due to commitments abbreviated the round to 9 holes (played the back nine at home course).  Had a solid session where even the worst miss (tee shot off 18) was fully playable.  Shot a solid 39 (6pars, 3bogies) - not dbls, no three putts - just boring golf.

      Overall, well said. People have to be very careful in trying to describe very complex problem in simple terms. In this case, it is a clear fundamental misunderstanding of Newton's 1st and 3rd laws.  To clarify more on the misinterpretation of Newton's 1st law. The exact interpretation of Newton's 1st Law....  "Every body continues in its state of rest, or of uniform motion in a straight line, unless it is compelled to change that state by forces impressed upon it" yea, a body will stay motionless unless a force acts upon it. An object will stay on its path of motion unless a force acts upon it.  I get it, complex physics problems are difficult. There is a lot of simplification done in most physics class when it is taught. A classic problem uses a frictionless surface. Projectile motion excludes drag and wind direction. Collisions are usually elastic. The golf swing is not a simple physics problem.  Yea, I think they got caught up the data on the graphs and are not truly understanding cause and effect.  If the golfer isn't first pushing into the ground, then the ground isn't going to push back.  The internal forces of the body create the motion, not the external forces from the ground. The ground isn't like what Psy uses to start his concert. 🤣 You probably need to be connected to the ground and have those GRF to help the body produce the motion you want. Your body has to move in the right way to produce the GRF which helps you move the body in the way you want. Body motion precedes the GRF.
