I like this short interview with Foley. I obviously don't have the knowledge to critique him as a swing coach, but I like his approach to life, mistakes, and living in the moment. Makes me think that this is a part of why some top pros like him. Particularly, the "mindfulness" idea that you can't control the past or the future, but only what you're working on right now.

I've always liked Foley's take on things. Great to read he hasn't changed.

I like that idea. It's basically the same idea that Ben Bergeron has been using for years in coaching his athletes as well...only worry about what you can control

Theres a lot to be said for that.  As a devout Buddhist, I can tell you that just taking life as it is can be a real game changer in a person's life.

Agreed. I'm not a Buddhist, but I think the philosophy and ideas are a great way to approach life, let alone your golf game. I bet there's a lot of meditating going on around the pro tour these days, whether they call it that or not. If there isn't, there should be IMO.

I would be surprised if there was, especially considering what a mental game golf is.  I know that Tiger has spoke in the past about his Buddhist upbringing and what an effect it had on his golf and his life, although he certainly strayed from that path from time to time.
