Hi all,

Have recently moved from San Diego to Perth, Western Australia (missing Torrey baaaad   🙂 )  Maintained a USGA handicap for a number of years over there - is there any way to convert that to a GA handicap or do I need to 'start' again with 3 cards?

Cheers, Ben

Check on Page 22 here:

I didn't read it in great detail, but it looks like you can "import" scores from your USGA handicap record.

Thanks Dave, much appreciated.  Not quite sure what you're seeing on page 22 but I can see mention of "recognised overseas equivalent" handicap which sounds like it should put me on the right track.

That's what I was seeing, that paragraph makes it seem as if at least part of your score history could be used.  If I remember right, GA handicaps are based much more on competition scores than the USGA system requires, so they may not want to take ALL of your scores, but at least its a start.  Enjoy what's left of your summer!

    • Day 55: mirror work again today. Still working on cleaning up backswing stuff.
    • Day 159 1-19 Flow drill while attempting to add arch in wrist on downswing. Not where it needs to be but felt good working on swing flow.
    • Day 1 (19 Jan 26) - after a week lay-off due to travels, felt great to get in some drills in the backyard today.  Started with lead arm only short pitches focused on squared face and light divot post ball.  Haven’t done this in a while and it showed, with some skulls and slices.  Settled into easy flighted balls - wrapped up with standard two handed swings.  Good restart to the daily drills.
    • That depends what you do within those two.  Are they your only options?   Check out Fit for Golf if you get a moment.  It's linked on the sidebar;  I did it for two years, stopped for a really bad reason, and I plan to get back to it soon.   Mike Carroll also has a great free podcast about a lot of topics in golf fitness.
    • Day 19, 1/19.  Finished work in time to spend 25 minutes hitting balls (hit 15) indoors, off a mat, into the net.  Usual focus.
