Were there any "dings" on the putter? I imagine that they can fix them no problem, just didnt know the turn around time for a full $110 resto.

Great reply!!! Thanks a million!

Anyone played there? Pros or Cons? Heading down in a month for a few rounds....just preparing myself.

Check out the Ping Discovery. Just got mine today, after wanting one for some time, and love it. The external putter well is going to be real nice.

Can't wait for the pics!! My #5 is going back for a restore this winter.

Here in Indianapolis, a new Golfsmith just opened right next door to a Golf Galaxy...I mean 100 yards away. I went in today to get a new scotty grip at GG and thought what the hell, I will check out Golf Smith. I walked in and was amazed at the showroom and the indoor driving range. I went to look at grips and bags and turned right around and went next door. The prices are quite a bit higher than Golf Galaxy. I ended up purchasing a new bag and grip for under 200, where Golf Smith wanted 200 just for the bag and didn't carry Scotty grips. I think, when it's time, I will try the club(s) out at GS and walk next door to purchase.

What I've found out in the past 48 hours
ndredsox replied to CG031's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I have been playing the OS's this year and after fitting they are a great budget set! I have been trading back and forth with those and some blades......not quite ready for the blades yet. -
Or 3 hours the way indy has been lately!!

I just purchased intelligoft eagle edition and boy is it nice!! Can't wait till Tuesday to try it out.

We flew southwest in May down to Orlando to play a few Disney courses. When we arrived back home, my wifes case was unsnapped and the driver head on her driver was separated. Southwest sent us a check for a new one. I would have rather went without the embarrassment of grabbing the club head off of the table.

Hey thanks for this!! I did something like this, but made one for each course I played. I scanned the layout off of the scorecard and made my own little yardage/score book.

I am using a new pocket pc and I was trying a score keeper program and it looks to be just alright. Anyone use one or know of a good program for windows mobile 5(or 6).....maybe with GPS support?

Got my first eagle tonight....been playing for a few years now and I can finally say I got "one"!!
-
I had a little kid and father team that let me play through tonight. I could tell he was teaching him and I thought it was very cool to see. They allowed me to play through on the second hole par 3, so yes par 3's are a little easier to play through on.

Plastic or Wood Tees? Something Else?
ndredsox replied to PutterHead's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Tried stingers first and now using zero frictions....my shot can't tell the difference, but it makes me feel like I know what I am doing. -
Shot average tonight(9 holes at local) and got my first eagle on a par 5 with a 12 foot putt. I was playing by myself, so I had to call the wife, she acted like she cared....that's all that is important.

Went with the White Steel. I guess if I don't like it, I have the 30 day return policy.

I always liked the Titleist line of wedges, but ran across a good deal for a TM r7 SW on ebay. I must say that I really enjoy hitting it and it seems to be a great addition so far.

The wife tried my white hot #5 odyssey last week and sank a 12 footer. "I am keeping this", she said. Well good for her, I just picked up my new putter today, an Odyssey SRT triball. Loved the feel of it at the store, so I had to have it. Looks a little over the top though and it larger than my driver...but seems to be a nice putter. Anyone have one of these? Any pros or cons?

Hate to bring an old thread up, but yes Fisherdude's explanation really helped. I was fitted today in Indianapolis, and I now know why I hit the lie board and why he measured so many times. Ended up being right at $170 for 3-PW with Winn grips and I will pick them up tomorrow. He used the Achieva brand measuring system and really was a professional in the way he worked with me. He even told me that my feet were too far apart when I addressed the ball.

The local range we have is a less than perfect range and the balls are not "marked" with the range line. Sometimes you find one that is a keeper, but at the same time all of the balls in my bag that I really don't care to play with find their way down range. So it's give and take I guess. I mean trading a nxt tour for a pinnacle is a good trade any day of the week.

That's almost enough to pay for the license plates on that Aspen he won on the BB7!!

Shot an 85 today, the sun was HOT!! By the time I got to the 18th, I was ready for it to be over. Had a few bad shots.....BUT, my driving is improving so I will take that any day over air conditioning.

One of the things that helped me in the same situation was to slow down my swing a bit and move the ball up in my stance a bit. I tried offseting my stance to correct it and it was very inconsistent and got me funny looks. Let us know what works for ya!
