1. "PING is going to help me be fast and forgiving with the new G Driver and Crossover!" 1 Jason Day -14 2 Jimmy Walker -14 3 Fred Couples -14
2. I have 3 kids, never practice, play once a week, and don't have time to hit balls before I play, but I still play to a 4. I've always wondered how good I could be. Golf is just so time consuming.
3. I had a practice round for the mid-am coming up this week. Par 4 430 yards hit a good drive had a 140 PW to a severely sloped back to front green. I pushed it a little, hit the green and rolled back on to the fringe and came to rest right next to the rough. I couldn't putt it, and chipping was risky. I was so worried about how I was going to get a club on it that I never read the green. I took a hybrid and hit it up the hill right at the hole. It broke left fast, didn't make it all the way up the hill and rolled past me down the other side of the green. I 3 putt from 50 feet from there for a double. I hit a great hybrid putt and it would have caught the flat spot of the green over the hill if I just took a second to read the green. I think I was self conscious about taking to long to decide which club to use. The problem is I'm not a slow player at all, and I feel like I have this clock in my head that I have to obey.
4. I wish the scores in majors were around par to 3 under. This feels like a regular event for me.
5. People want to see Tiger play, even if he is playing bad. I hope they do switch it though, I can't take the commentary after every bad shot. How come they are not showing all of Bradley's shots in slow motion with lines on his head, hips club. It's beyond annoying.
6. Best round was 71, but most memorable was Bethpage red 73, then Bethpage black the next day 96 lol
7. Last year I got a membership for $950, and it can be played at 7,000 yards. I played it a ton, but hated the course. I did however shoot par for the first time in my life, and drop my handicap from 6 to a 4 which suck if you want to play for money lol. I wouldn't do it again though, I got so sick of playing the same course.
8. Spieth and Dunne in the final group would amazing. I wouldn't know who to pick.
9. Tiger and Jason played a practice round today. Probably a big FU to the National Enquirer from the both of them.
10. I was B-fit for Bridgestone Tour B330 golf balls. Rory Mcllroy -16 Lee Westwood -14 Paul Casey -13
11. tiger should put these in the bag tomorrow.
12. I completely agree. In hanks book, tiger was obsessed with hitting the ball far. Bring back the stinger.
13. I love to watch Tiger play, but the constant analysis of his golf swing and where his mind is on every bad shot is getting so old. I mean, I get why because he was so great, but enough is enough. This morning I heard "Tiger Woods is smiling...he never used to smile." The guy is trying to find his game, we know. thanks.
14. I want outrageous speed with a Callaway XR Driver! Jimmy Walker -5 JB Holmes -6 Kevin Na -5
15. That's what I said. I understood the ruling 30 posts ago, but I hate the rule, and I kept making it known. I still got piled on. Like I said, go into almost any thread on here, and you will find an argument or people bashing each other.
16. "maybe if I knew the rules better Id get more drops." Yea because this scituation where a right handed golfer wants to hit left handed, but his left handed stance enables him to get a drop so he can hit right handed always happens, and isn't worthy of discussion. I'm just an idiot, and I apologize if I thought his intention was to never hit it left handed, but get a free drop because it's the left handed shot was reasonable. Well what's not a reasonable shot, and who decides. Shit,I can talk myself into a lot of shots that seem reasonable that really freaking aren't. But I get it, he had a terrible shot that gets rewarded by a stupid rule, and he doesn't have to play it as it lies. That's golf
17. I thought it was interesting, so posted it. like every other thread it turns into a pissing contest. The lost ball comment was a joke. I got the ruling a long time ago. I lost... see
18. I do get it, and accept the ruling. I think I'm just jealous that these guys seem to get so many free drops, not to mention they hardly ever have a lost ball.
19. His intent was to get a drop
20. It was his 3rd so he was only 100 or so out. Good for you though. You hit that full shot pretty well.
21. Has anyone actually seen a PGA player hit this supposed reasonable shot before? I can't recall it ever happening. I saw Ricky borrow Phils club lol, and I've obviously seen it against a tree, but never the edge of the water.
22. Would you take that shot in a tournament, with the water right there? Both pitching out or hitting it lefty gave him no shot at the green.
23. haha nice shot. I'm saying he could have had his ass facing the hole and pitch out, a much safer and just as effective shot as hitting it left handed. He wouldn't have got either shot to the green, but the relief enabled him to get a shot at the green. If you had you butt facing the range, the ball would be in the middle of your stance. I'm not saying he should have balanced on the wood, just turn his body.
Was at the driving range at lunch today and thought "What the heck." Note that I imagined the red and yellow pole as the line of the hazard so I was aiming well right of that. I hit the first shot about 50 yards and the second shot about 100 (to the red and white pole). If it was a 3 or 4 foot drop into a lake, no way would I even bother trying to stand over there - I'd be too afraid to fall in.
24. I would say pitching out would be a much safer shot. I'm not sure I would flip the club upside down that close to the water.
