  1. how much distance would you say they affect on 50 yard shots? when i practice half wedges to get distances down am i jsut wasting my time with range balls?
  2. thats not what he said.
  3. if the 975f is anything like that 906 then if u hit it well its great, just not forgiving. i dont even try to hit it out of the rough unless its fluffed up. i end up hitting thin a lot on the fairway also. but when its hit right the ball just flies.
  4. i used 2.75" as well.. sometimes in mushy ground they end up getting tee'd down too much but usually perfectly fine. i think you are jst being overly concerned here. heck get some clear packaging tape and cover the sole if you are that worried about marking it up.
  5. hopefulyl it looks better than that spaceship surrounding bubbas head at the open
  6. i dont really carry any markers or anything extra. jsut tees/balls/sunblock/water/rainhood. towel hangs on the bag so thats not an issue and if i need to mark my ball (which I dont), id jsut mark them all before i placed them in my bag. i have thought about addign a swing weight, usually jsut swing 2 clubs to stretch tho.
  7. if tailoring gloves get synthetics because the natural ones will wear out fast and u will spend a lot more money. but.. have u thought about trying some preventative measures? use lots of hand lotion, suncreen the back of the hands, and new grips? new soft grips should help a lot and if you regrip them yourself each year you will only spend $50 on materials per year.... not too shabby. also new grips can be still be good while a little wet. i prefer Winn Excel RF's, they are terrific for me. have him keep a towel handy if sweat is an issue. then again if price is no object you can always go custom tailored
  8. #4 at OSU Scarlet. 562 yard par 5 that goes up, dogleg left with a corner bunker and tree left and right.. then downhill to a landing area in front of a creek.. and up and to the right to the green.. with a pond in front, steep hill to rub short shots to the water and 4 bunkers in all corners of the green. i usualyl pull an 8.
  9. i use goo gone.
  10. most people over estimate... but the groups i usually play with are all pretty honest and we know that 300+ is pretty huge. if you hit a massive shot mentally pick a landmark where the tees are, and where the balls ends up.. like near a certain tree... and check google earth. you can measure on that down to pretty close gps yardages
  11. it was probably the grass
  12. when i pull its because my hands released too early and cast the club which killed distance and aiemd everythign left/hooked. make sure your hips and shoudlers go through their entire motions u arent releasing too soon.
  13. line up and set up with ur feet square to get the ball position set... then flare the toes if u have to. ball will be in the right spot.
  14. id say sarcasm. he didnt seem happy at all, especially the 27 putts.
  15. 79 on a 66.6/111 = 12 or 13 cap. went 44/35 on a par 35/35... so i was pretty happy about the back nine. matched my lowest ever overall, and a new lowest nine ever.
  16. i noticed it lets me get more/longer lag for better power but i lose any consistency. i also dont end up turning enough when i do that
  17. they probably kept hitting into u because u ran their ball over, which is a pretty crappy tihng to do... if you are angry then tell them directly, dont play little revenge games on the course... accidents happen and they probably didnt realize they were flying the green so close to u and they just didnt react fast enough.. happens all the time.. atleast they yelled fore, even a little late. i know ive hit balls where it looks like its not gonna be close to someone and then lands 5 feet away, i go and apologize and things are ok.
  18. when you play from an awful lie... do you usually end up better after two strokes then you would have after one from a drop? or do you hack away a couple times in the bad lie?
  19. there are tons of reviews on the D2 Feel.. ive been using it lately and it plays the same for me (im not too good anyways)... and it goes the same distance aa other balls ive played (all titleists/nikes). they dont check as quickly as some premium balls but usually just fine for me; i never get a ball to back up anyways.. but short irons and wedges all stop pretty fast.3 my wedges still take some skin off, but not nearly as bad as the other premiums where they would shred the whole dimples off. ive been putting pretty decent for me with them...better than normal actually. they shank just as easily as the other balls too!
  20. the type of sand you play out of will also determine the bounce you need. i got so ingrained in using my 60 to get out of tall/steep greensided bunkers that i forgot i even had a 56 to use for normal greenside bunker shots. 60 kept slipping under and id leave it in the sand. my 60 has a 9 bounce, 56 has 14. (nike forged)
  21. ^^ i think he jsut clarified 7 wood since in your last post u accidentally said 7 iron.

    The Hammer

note on their website .. they guarantee "20 yards faster" ... a faster 20 yards? sure hit the ball .01mph harder and its a faster 20 yards i guess.
  23. i play a 13.5 975f as well.. off the tee its straighter then my driver.. and goes about 240-260... usually 240-250 tho. off the fairway its no more difficult to hit than any other 3 wood ive hit. i used to be able to hit it very well but lately ive been topping a few of them, but i doubt thats a club problem. i actually think the 13.5 flies too high for me.. maybe i'll go with a new shaft as well. it already needs a new grip anyways.
  24. ya its like i just cant avoid a blow up hole ... if i make a mistake and take a safe way out and accept a lost stroke.. i'll shank the safe shot. shanks today cost me around 10 strokes i think, possibly more.
  25. i try to avoid them... but today on a par 5..i hit a tee shot the trees, punch out to 170 yards jsut short of a creek.. for a 6 iron approach over a lake.. theres water short and short shots will roll down into the water off the side of the green.. so i even take an extra club.. and shank 3 shots right into the water. that felt terrific.
