Help with tuning original R11
NBGolfer replied to Chris Shades's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Have you tried to adjust the heal and toe weights that may help the slice. If you already are hitting a fade the drop of a degree could increase that a bit. If you adjust the weights it might offset it some. -
I bought for the group I was in. Don't think you should have to buy for everyone, I would like to think they should for you

Would love to get the cap down to a 0. Went down to a 1 this year, with very little practice time so I would like to have a little more practice time and try to get down to 0.

I got for it, If you hit a good shot you are in line for a chance at eagle or bird, if you hit a bad one you can still get up and down for par.

Why am I hitting my 6, 7 and 8 iron the same distance?
NBGolfer replied to DublinMeUp's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
i was going to ask about the grooves but if they are new then that shouldn't be the problem. What is the gap in yards between your 6 and 8? -
anybody wear a glove on both hands?
NBGolfer replied to DoorKicker's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I only wear 2 gloves when I use my rain gloves. -
Been stuck with a 5 handicap too long, please help

For me to make that jump I worked on 2 things. First was scrambling, really trying to work on those shots you need to get yourself out of bad situations and get some distance out of those situations to allow yourself a chance at par. Looks kinda funny on the range hitting low punch hooks etc.. but it can pay off Second thing for me was I was always trying the low percentage shot to try and save a bad drive. Typically those only compound the problem. My game sorta moved a bit when I took my medicine and got back into play rather then trying a low percentage shot to try and recover. Stats tracking is also an important thing that I noticed as I just started doing that as well to try and make the next big jump. -
Playing in the wind is something that takes practice to build confidence in club selection. Every times is different as well, which is a bigger challenge. The only good thing the wind is, you always get those holes where it helps and you get to smash drives lol.

I don't do much swing related. I take that time I do alot to work on my flexibilty over the winter. I started that 3 years ago and that has helped my swing and added distance to my game. I will chip and put a bit and make a trip or two the simulator, but nothing major game related.

My adivse at this stage for you would be to get a couple of lessons given you are early in your golf life it would be a good thing to do to establish proper set up, swing and finish. I don't buy into the training aids that much. There could be a number of problem areas causing you to hit behind the ball and is hard to guess. Posture and ball position would be a couple of easy ones to focus on first before getting into the more complicated sections like swing plane.

Thanks

I don't think they produce it in a 9.5 though, from what I can find they are only available for sale in 9, and 10.5. The site I was on, looked like knock off's that had them in a 9.5.

Does the R11 Right Handed come with 9.5 loft? I found one for sale and thought only the left handed came with a 9.5. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks

Thanks, I think I will start to pay attention to my stats more often, that is something I don't pay much attention to. For me it seems to be that one big mistake that can add several strokes quick. We have quite a few OB areas outside and inside the course and doesn't help any. Thanks for the replys.

I have my index down to as low as it ever has been at 1.5, that puts me at a 2 course cap. I am trying to make the jump down to scratch like everyone else haha. Did you do any thing specific to get yourself down to 0 from a 2. Lessons? I have never had a lesson and I am wondering if that would be key to fine tune things just enough, or I am worried that would mess up my game just as much as help it. Thanks any thoughts would be great.

I have never really experienced the "wall". Could be because I am up north and we have a 6 month off season, which is hard on the game but also can be viewed as a good break that allows me to take up different interested over the winter and by the time spring rolls around I am hungry to get back out there. As far as the anger issues I often fight those as well. This year I have been much better and I really had to examin my game and realize I wasn't going to fire under par every round and make every 5 footer. Once I really stood back and accepted my game as is, it helped in that area as well. I don't think there is anything wrong with stepping away for a week or two until the itch returns. I also like the idea of going to play a different course to see if that helps ignite the fire again. I often do that a couple of times a summer to shake things up.

I bought one of these and love it. Great weight and balance, and I do like the white.

First Eagle. Holy Bleeping Crap.

Congrats! As far as your consistency with your hybrids vs 3 wood and driver, the lenght on the club and ball position could be the key. 3 wood and driver being a little longer amplify little mistakes as well as shaft flex. Check you ball position and make sure you are making the adjustments with the 3 wood and driver. -
The big thing that got me past my corner was I tried to stop recovering from a mistake by making a bigger one. Usually if I hit a bad shot, which everyone does the key is not to make it worse. Take your punch out, loose the stroke and you might make it up later with a chip or a putt. I see all to often people I golf with make a bad shot, try to hit a giant hook out around something hit that, then have to punch out again. As far as the mental side, just play. Enter in a few events even if they at a local club, get use to playing with a little pressure. Sounds wierd but it may help your day to day play after. That is a big thing that helped me. If you really need help shaking the bad habits a lesson might help as well. The bottom line is most of us leave strokes out on the course every round, that is the fun and hard part about this game. Every day is different.

I went golfing today and i need some tips
NBGolfer replied to Evan Bauer8's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
You can get a set of alignment sticks, (or you can lay a club down) that you can use to help with your aim. Lay one down at your target, then set your feet in the same alignment as the stick, that will help you work on getting your alignment down. There are a number of putting drills on the web that can help you out, but you might just want to start by heading to a putting green or in your house... and getting a putting stroke down that you can maintain and have some consistency with. -
My brother and I were out on Sunday. 199 Par 3, he is about an 18 cap. This hole has given him serious troubles over the last couple of seasons. He hit the ball as well as I have seen him hit on that hole, ball started working back towards the hole, one bounce and in. His first hole in one.
