If you don't have a distance gap between 3w > Hybrid then I would put in a 60. My mine comes in very handy provided limit its use to when I really need it, eg. When I have short-sided myself behind a bunker to an elevated green with the pin just over the bunker it comes in really handy. I generally find that I prefer my 54 or PW from 40 yards or more out.

Cheaper 3 woods advice needed. Nickent?
23Rounder replied to steve617's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
If your willing to go 2nd hand you can normally pick up the cleveland launchers (same as my signature) for around $40 from 3Balls which is fantastic value for a great club. -
voted Neutral but one of my worst habits is to progressively weaken my grip over time (Weeks or Months) so I am constantly having to strengthen it.
-
Putting was my choice as my current average of around 33-34 putts is way too many for not having a good GIR% but I would have liked to pick chipping as well as I have to get it close before I can expect to make them

If the ball is lost inbounds or out of bounds then the only option is to return to the tee. If a playing partner took a drop in a stroke round I wouldn't sign his card. Playing socially you can do what you want but playing in a comp you play by the rules or play with someone else.

Best reasonably-priced golf ball?
23Rounder replied to clubmaker15's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I would recommend the NXT Tour or e5+ both are really good balls for a substantial saving over the top line ProV, TP Red, B330 etc -
The only way they should is to qualify properly, eg top 50 owgr, winning a main season PGA Tour event or winning US Am or any other set criteria. Personally I don't think it will ever happen. As to the question of having Women members they are a private club and should be able to invite whoever they want to.

Is your bag branded with your clubs?
23Rounder replied to Bourbon and Coke's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Unless you are being paid to do it, the only sensible thing to do is use the bag that you like best (Branded or not) -
Has anyone bought from 3balls from EBAY?
23Rounder replied to rycur12's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I bought my 907D1 and Launcher 17 fairway from there and they were very easy to deal with and very well organised -
1. The Old Course at St Andrew's 2. Augusta National 3. Cypress Point 4. Cape Kidnappers (NZ) 5. Royal Melbourne (Composite)

Best golf ball....UMM???
23Rounder replied to thedub's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I voted for the Tour ix (Callaway). I don't play with them normally mainly because of the cost and I find the NXT Tour to still be a good ball but closer to my price range. I would prefer to play with the Tour ix but simply can't justify it at my handicap level. -
I am definately against an increase. If a change has to be made they should reduce the number allowed. When I started playing golf I only had 6 clubs (3 Wood, 3 iron, 5 iron, 7 iron, Wedge and putter) and I didn't play any worse. That doesn't stop me carrying 14 clubs at the moment but I don't beleive it makes a material difference to my score.

Long Putters - are they bad for our game's image?
23Rounder replied to Lefty731PM's topic in Tour Talk
I would never use one myself but they are legal so I have no issue with them. I can not think of a Broomstick putter owner that is a great putter so they certainly don't give an advantage over us mere mortals. -

I will take Australia's climate over Dubai's any day -
I have no issue at all. As long as they are aware of golfing etiquette as someone previously mentioned. They only let junior golfers at my club play in Saturday members comps once they play of less than 15 which means they are better than me anyway. (Obviously once they turn 18 and start paying higher fees they are allowed to play off any handicap.)

Certainly not by me, but I have seen it a few times and it is great to watch

Tiger plans his whole season around the majors / WGC events and it is only natural that he avoids tournaments on courses that don't suit him as in reality winning one extra PGA Tour event doesn't matter to him.
-
The European Tour is far superior to the Nationwide Tour. Just look at the results in the 4 majors each year to see how good the players from the European Tour are. It cannot compete with the USPGA Tour for prizemoney and probably depth over the full field but the top line players (Tiger excluded) are of very similar ability.

Please Help me select a new Wedge set!
23Rounder replied to dave39's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I haven't hit the CG14 but in my experience, the CG10 were a far better club than the CG11 and CG12. I say go Vokey! -
60° Wedge, LOVE IT OR HATE IT?
23Rounder replied to withdrew's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Mine is a love and hate relationship. Like some other posters I cannot hit full shots with it and have found that if I only bring it out when I cannot play the shot in front of me just as well with my 54 degree I seem to concentrate more and get much more consistent results. -
His driving was a weakness last year but he was fantastic off the tee in two tournaments in Australia in Nov Dec. He was long and straight all four days of the Australian Masters and beat Daniel Chopra in a playoff. Chopra has continued his form into the start of the US PGA Tour so lets hope Badds can do the same. He was using MacGregor blades and TM Superquad driver in Australia but now he has signed with Adams apparently.

Whats your take on the Ping color system?
23Rounder replied to Mark19's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I definately think it is worthwhile. I am green dot. Professional fitting is the best but the ping web fit is normally fairly accurate and is a good option for people purchasing 2nd hand pings.
