  1. I just purchased my second California series Scotty, and so far this new Monterey is the finest tool I have ever used!!!! I have beat my previous best round 2 times in a week. I cannot wait to send it out to his custom shop and pimp it out even more!
  2. I know this thread is older, but I currently game ping i20 irons 4-sw, i20 three wood and driver. And they are the best set of golf clubs I have ever owned. Can't bring myself to replace my vokey 60, titleist 910 hybrid and Scotty Cameron putter but the pings are awesome
  3. I dont know much about the AD DI but my bud has one in his i20 and when I compare it to my i20 with the Ping shaft in it the AD DI kills it. I am trying to get him to trade drivers with me because he cant hit it but he isn't budging. I know this didn't help but I thought I would throw in my 2 cents. And I believe its the same shaft that Tiger uses.
  4. I am not trying to say that the Optishot doesn't have its pluses. like I said for me it was more fun then just pounding balls into a net. I didn't say that it was a waste of money. The fun wore off in a hurry for me but I was trying to give a review of a product. I am saving up to get a full blown launch monitor in my house. I guess if you put up a couple high speed cameras then maybe you can get some stuff done. On a side note my friends 5 year old son really loved playing on it so its good for the family.
  5. Today I posted an 86 at Green Valley Golf Club in Denver Colorado. Not close to my best round of 78 but I did however do something that has eluded me for 10 years. I posted my first ever EAGLE!!! I have had countless birdies but for some strange reason eagle has always been out of reach. Hole #4 tee shot with a 7 iron. Then pulled a 60 degree wedge (vokey) had a 60 foot pitch that I tried to kill on the front of the green and the ball did just as I had asked it to. 1 hop and nothing but net. I was in such shock that it took me a couple seconds to figure out that I had just done what had previously been impossible. Temperature at tee time 36 degrees outside. Now I only wish that I wasn't playing with an orange Bridgestone e6 because it looks like crap on my display case, but with snow still on the fairways and bunkers a bright orange ball is vital those white balls are hard to find in the white stuff!!!!!!!!!
  6. I am not sure why anyone would care what another person plays? Does someone using a Prov1 have anything to do with your game? I wont even pick up a found ball that is not a Pro v1 and that is to include a Pro v1x. I refuse to hit any other ball. But that is my decision to make. I work hard for my money and if I chose to pay for a Pro v1 why would you care. I trust what a Pro v1 will do around the green and off the face of my putter. Should I also not spend $350 on a Scotty Cameron? But I did because they are the best in my opinion. I am not looking down on someone who has a cheap putter or uses noodles. I am a cop and I drive a Kia but I choose to have good gear and that is my choice.
  7. I owned one for about a year. I just sold it with the computer I purchased so I could keep it in my garage. The optishot is an expensive video game. Yes it does show tempo and path and club speed. But make no mistake it is not a launch monitor. You get no feedback on spin or launch angle. I found it to be funner then banging balls into a net. It does not pick up your driver unless you buy the optishot driver. I used a 3 wood and just set it to driver and it measured swing speed so you can get around it. I would advise spending the money on lessons at golftec durning the winter but to each their own. It will not help you to improve your swing flaws but it will help you stay busy durning the winter. As far a durability the unit does seem to hold up well. the rubber tee that came with it only lasted about a week before it wouldn't hold an actual tee anymore i never replaced it. If you don't buy the stance pad you will constantly be repositioning it after each shot and I believe the stance pad is expensive. And after you buy a net and other items you will be a lot more expensive then you think. I have never used any other simulators so I can't comment on if it is better
  8. Scotty Cameron California Monterey, 35 inches of pure sexy!!!!!!!!!!! Last week I picked up a set of Ecco Biom hydromax shoes. Next week I am shopping a hybrid maybe titleist.
  9. I just left my local Golfsmith with my brand new Scotty Cameron California Monterey! I went there dead set on getting one of the black models but man I fell in love in a hurry. I am a huge fan of the new pistolero grip!!!! I agree with everyone saying that we spend the money of a driver so why not. And you cannot beat the look of a Scotty. Now I am trying to raise the money to send it away to his custom shop and make it a one of a kind, guess that will have to wait till next season. And I traded in a few putters I have used in the last couple years and I dropped the price from $350 to $150. The good news is I never really struggle with my putting in fact it is about the only thing I do well.
  10. I have played the Penta since they came out. I switched to the Prov1 at the end of last season. The only reason I did so was I refuse to support Taylormade Golf in any fashion. They are replacing the Penta with something called the killer or something like that (i saw pictures of it the other day). The marketing department in Taylormade is on crack lately. But the Penta and the Prov1 are both fantastic balls.
  11. The main reason I switched to Ping. Every 2 years Ping updates the line I play I20. The g20 is 2 years old and now they have the g25's. Every year Taylormade throws something new out and your trade in is worth nothing. And personally I think Taylormade has lost their mind with the horrible paint scheme on their new stuff. I could never stand over that new R1 and not get distracted. I am sure that in May they will launch the R1s and stage 3 crappyballz.
  12. I played today with mine and I noticed that my Sand Wedge is also doing this on the toe, and it appears as if it is starting on my 9 and 7. I have played about 50 rounds on them since I got them. Looks like I will be contacting Ping soon. I would even pay the difference to get the Anser irons......
  13. Ping who states "made in america" also makes their drivers in china, but they do assemble in the US i believe.
  14. I just dropped my i20's off to get re shafted, im getting Rifle Precision 5.5. But I bought them 4 months ago knowing I was going to get them re shafted. Ill let you know how they turn out. and my fitter is going to lighten them up he told me Ping built them in a D9 swing weight and that is not what I ordered.
  15. I have owned it in a belly putter since December. I love that putter, my lag is so good with it and inside 5 feet is as good as in. I just out on the super stroke belly putter grip on it and that thing is amazing.
  16. I must admit this was one of the funniest threads I have ever read!!!!! I should never underestimate the Sandtrap communities ability to give me a good laugh. Nice work guys you really brought my spirits up after the 84 I posted on the course today!!!
  17. I got my i20's 4-SW, I bought them because I felt it was easier to have the same shafts and lie. I love the gap and sand wedge. I bought a Ping tour-s wedge in 58 degree just to get a little fancier. There is no problem buying them as a set and I feel so much more confident standing over the same looking club on all my shots. I also got the driver and 3 wood........next club to get kicked out of my bag is my Adams Super Hybrid and when I replace it with the i20 I will be Ping from putter to driver.
  18. I own them in green dot 2 upright with stock ping stiff shafts. I have broken my person best rounds 4 times since owning them. I also have the driver 9.5 with stock stiff and I have never driven the ball this well in my life. And I also have the 14 degree 3 wood in project x 6.0 and I can say that after not having a 3 wood in my bag for the last 3 years because I just can not hit one, I am now a green hitting machine on the par 5's. And I have yet to miss a fairway when I opt to tee off with it. I am so impressed with Ping that I just added a 58 degree tour s wedge. I am a long time Taylormade honk and I just got fed up with a new set of irons and drivers come out from them what seems like every other week, I decided to make a huge change. I have never been happier I am now a Ping guy for life.
  19. I have owned the I20 since the launch date. The driver is very forgiving with the tungsten weights in the bottom. My swing speed is 101 mph so not blistering in any way. I am 20 yards longer then with my R11tp. It is a low spin so along with lower ball flight you also see a lot less side spin so I see reduced slice and hook issues. You cannot sky mark the crown which is my biggest fear with a new driver. I have hit 4 or so off the crown and it just rubs off. Mine is a 9.5 and my playing partner who uses the g20 explains my ball flight as "boring". And I will take boring as i'm rolling past him in the fairway.
  20. I had the same problem when I owned the R9 TP'S I was only able to get 1 degree up. So I ended up buying Ping I20's and they are 1000 percent better.
  21. Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has tried the Perfect Release? I am not a guy who buys into a lot training aids. My biggest issue in my swing is post impact, I can never get into a finish position. I suffer from the chicken wing after impact. Just wondering if anyone has tried it and what their thoughts are.
  22. I use Penta practice balls and I love them. I have seen no performance problems and I don't get as angry when I send them into the drink. And then I buy the regular balls when I play in tournaments. Buy the practice balls and save some coin.
  23. So there are people out there who also dislike the white. I bought my R11 tp on launch day and I was the first to get on my course with it. And even a couple months after I was still the only person using white stuff. Then one day I look around and everyone on the range is using some sort of white club. So I then go to the dark side and go with Ping i20 with a mat black finish and it is sweet. If your going to change the color you should do it right and send it out to a local powder coater and do it up right so it will stand up to use.
  24. I wouldn't trust the web fit. I did mine and it told me standard length with Maroon dot. I went in and got fit at Golfsmith and it came out 1/2 longer with green dot 2.25 upright. And I must say they fit me perfect.
  25. I20 is an absolute MONSTER!!!!!!!
