  1. I play with a guy who can hit the bal 270. he only hits the fairway maybe once a round, second shots are out of the rough and or behind trees and scores around 45-53. My 230-240 yard tee shots are usually in the fairway or first cut and I normally shoot 34-38. When I'm the starter and the guys tell me how far they hit the ball I tell them to move to the back tee then they only hit the ball about 190-200 yards and they think they killed it.
  2. I Think the pro's must use the same type of ball through the whole 18 holes including the number on the ball. So the option of changing balls for a different compression is not availiable to them. Yes they can change balls on each new tee if they want.
  3. You said you have two drivers and one is 10*. That would mean the other is a specific number. Also you have alot of maybes
  4. Before you give info you should have your facts right. the driver has a degree number, not somewhere between 4.5-7.5 . Hitting a 10* driver off the deck all the time must be pretty tough as the pro don't do it very often with their 10* drivers. If it was a smart play I'd think more of the pros would not be coming up short on par fives.
  5. Most golf shops will check a club or two for nothing. Thats not getting it fixed just letting you know if you need them fixed. going price seems to be 3-5 dollars each.
  6. You may be thinking about hitting 100 golfballs not what your there for. practice your shots, swing and setup. get a small bucket of ball instead of a large. I watched VJ on the range for 2 1/2 hours one day and I bet he didn't hit thirty balls during the whole time I was watching.
  7. If your rough is that thick aim to the fairway not the green. one shot back into the fairway is better than three or four shots in the rough trying to get to the green. Play smart golf.
  8. It may not be the lie angle but your swing, get them both checked by a pro.
  9. Guess he'll have to wait another week to show how good he is, Since he missed the cut this week.

    I beat golf!

Great round, may that be your high game of 2008.
  11. 1. slow play 2. teaching someone how to hit the ball with people waiting behind you. (they always seem to show up on the weekends) 3. people not fixing ball marks 4. people waiting to hit a 285 yd shot when they can only hit a 200yd shot from the tee.
  12. Sorry to hear that. That is one rule you'll never forget.
  13. Courses that rate it off handicap do that so you can enjoy your round and they usually have a few forced carries that a high handicap will not be able to carry. Many high handicappers don't have a good short game and that drives the handicap up. If you drive the ball well and the short game is your problem playing back one tee from your handicap should be ok.
  14. You need a soft ball and sharp edges on your wedges.
  15. Everyone is good that's on tour. Your dream should be to become number one. As we know to many are just happy to be making a living on tour and not going to work everyday to a job you don't like.
  16. Rule 6-1 states; the players are responsible for knowing the rules.
  17. If you want to work on squaring the shoulders, stand in a door way with a club, put a ball down and set up as normal your shoulders will be square to the door frame if the ball is positioned correct. Most of the time when the shoulder is pointed off line is the ball is to far back or forward in the stance.
  18. Glad to hear you fixed it. Very easy to over fix a problem and that will make a new one.
  19. A score card should be turned in to the official scorer to show you did play and how you won or lost the match. Match or stroke play turn in the card.
  20. Yea I thought about giving up golf after missing 4 birdies in a row then when we got in the club house and the other three guys paid what I won I thought what the Hell I'll keep playing. Some days your the bug others your the windshield.
  21. Being 15 and have never worked at a golf course before maybe a simple one that states your a student and would like to work for Vally Ridge Golf Course this summer in any position available. Be careful that you say work on the course or you could in up in the snack bar/restaurant.
  22. This is correct. They played the first 18 by a set of rules, going extra holes would have been common knowledge to follow the same rules in a match for extra holes. So agreeing not to use the handicap strokes was agreeing not to play by the rules.
  23. Someone is always trying to make more of a statment than their is. I remember hearing things about jack N, greg N and other top players about that the rest of the field was hoping they would fly to the wrong tournament. If the best player is not in the filed your chance of winning is greatly improved, don't take comments out of context and the world would be a better place for all. All the young guys want to win but they know if Tiger is in the field their are probaly playing for second place.
  24. Rule 1-3 agreement to waive rules. Both players Disqualified. Not knowing the rule is not an excuse. Before turning in the score card you check with the committee for violation of a rule. Not knowing the rule would have been settled before turning in the card and the correct winner would have been declared. The question of not allowing strokes on play off holes was wrong but the committee would have corrected the error if the card was not signed.
  25. I average 4 rounds a week and I never wear magnets and have never had joint pain. It's all in your mind.
