  2. If you cant make an eagle and are in a share for second then laying up to go for a birdie and outright second makes sense.
  3. Imagine if he put in 10000 hours!
  4. I cant believe they would charge for a non player. My wife and I go to the golf course each year on holidays, I will pay a much higher green fee just because it is holidays as a treat to myself. My wife loves to watch and will come along. If she had to play I will find something else to do. If a course can make a profit with me by myself in a cart then they can make the same money by having my wife as a passenger, they will make double from meals and drinks too.
  5. I would love the skills to do either but would get bored being short and accurate. Gripping it and ripping it is fun
  6. The pure rage in her eyes is pretty normal. I always get the feeling that Lewis is a sore loser and always seems to be angry. She is by far my least favorite player on the tour.
  7. I think Bam Bam had to lay up mainly due to being in the rough. I dont think it was possible to get a decent 2nd shot at the green with the lie she had
  8. I wonder why they choose 70 as the par? I prefer 72, it means an even 4 shots per hole and makes things nicer numerically. Really though, I dont care what they do as long as it is fair to all players. My big concern about increased length on holes is whether it is fair to golfers who dont hit the ball as far. Creative shaping of fairways and use of bunkers and rough can even out a field so all are even.
  9. you would need to practice for at least 10000 hours
  10. I have no issue with assistance with club selection as this is something the player could do but the caddie save time. I dont think having another person tell you where to aim is in the spirit of the game. This allows someone who does not possess one of the skills required to succeed to be able to putt successfully. I realise there is more to putting than line selection but it is pretty important
  11. If advice from the crowd was breaking the rules the every time a ball was sunk it would be a penalty, every shot from tee to green is accompanied by "in the hole". I personally dont like advice on the greens by caddies or help with lining up on tees or fairways. To me a caddie should only be able to provide advice the golfer could have written down eg distances.
  12. so it must have taken 3 day for the first three putt!
  13. Sandra Gal has an amazing natural body and I also think Michelle Wie is stunning
  14. not the best body on the tour either
  15. I personally would not go onto the tee box, but if you think about it this is the best possible area of the course to risk damage to the ground. Even in the unlikely event that your clubs are so heave that they do damage, most people will use a tee so the condition of the ground is not as big a deal.
  16. I have never heard of that, are you thinking of courses in Australia with sand greens?
  17. Massive difference for me I kept my clubs from 1994 until 2013- they were a set of Fazer Marauder's. These were my first clubs after playing for 2 years. I had used my dads clubs from the early 80's prior to this. The Fazer clubs were nice rip offs of Tommy Armour cavity backs, I think they were 845's or silver scot from memory. I did upgrade the driver in 2006 and gained a bit of distance. My current clubs are a couple of years old and make a massive difference, but I do also play a lot more. Iron distance is significant. I used to hit a 5 iron 150m and my new 5 iron goes about 170-175m. I realise that the lofts have lowered over the years but the difference is massive. The big difference though to my game is the forgiveness of the irons. If I hit a sweet 7iron it will go really high and stop almost straight away on a green about 155m away, the great part is if I hit it thin it seems to go the same distance but at a much lower flight path. This is massive for my game, my mishits dont stop on the green but a poorly played iron is still near the green for chipping rather than another approach shot. Maybe my extra distance is due to my clubs being "Nitro active" lol!!!!
  18. I have often thought that with all of the money that is in the middle east a sheik with too much money should build a course that features exact replicas of famous golf holes, not necessarily the hardest holes but the famous ones. Imagine having amen corner, the road hole and the island hole in the same round. As for my score, if the greens were at PGA level then I think 121 (triple on every hole) with greens somewhat suited to normal golfer then I think 103 (double every hole)
  19. Good On Steve for choosing his family first. I predict he will work with Lydia Ko on a part time basis
  20. I dont like to pick up at a predetermined score, I then miss out of practicing my putting. I do however pick up from distances that I dont feel I need to practice from
  21. I think right index is the one tiger tapes and Wie injured. It takes a fair bit of wear
  22. It is mostly a woman thing, I think they fear photos of their ears looking larger
  23. So what? I would be choosing a ball based on how I score, not whether the box tells me it is a beginner or pro ball. Ignore the branding and choose what plays best. Same goes for clubs, play what suits you, not what advertising tells you is best
  24. the testing condition of hazard is an interesting thing. If you stand back from the ball and take a practice swing (without grounding the club) and then move closer to the ball and play your shot then would the practice swing have been testing the condition? How do you walk into a water hazard without testing the condition?
  25. I dont care about the brand, but do about the feel of the ball. I realized that while ever I am not a pro golfer the ball is going to play a very minor part in my performance.
