Ignorant responses. I have less than perfect grammar and I'm going to a very good school. Typing on an internet forum doesn't show the whole story and he wants to be an engineer, so english is less important than other things like math and science.

I'm not sure many people are going to know too much about golf other than division one schools. If you arent division one caliber and still want to play just check out some smaller local collegs in your area. I'm going to purdue next summer and studying engineering and they have 3 golf courses ON CAMPUS, as well as over 10 in the surrounding area of west lafayette.

Well if youre looking for more distance, I'd try the adams speedline. It's supposed to be more aerodynamic, so you can get a little more speed and a little more distance.

Hahaha. Please tell me an application that youre iphone has that i can't get. The only difference is mine will not be dumbed down. Windows Mobile allows the phone to be completely customized and lets people create their own apps. http://www.fuzemobility.com/theres-a...tand-for-this/ I think people don't understand this. There has not been one app that I've wanted and couldn't find. Lets also remember the fact that I can flash my phone with different roms to make it quicker and smoother, without hacking my phone.

Honestly, If i were you and they didn't full replace replace the head if its damaged and reinstall the shaft, I'd be VERY upset. I could have put on a head thats going to fly off in two weeks. I would be going there to avoid that happening. And if they show any hostility or don't replace anything, I wouldn't ever go back there and I'd call their corporate office and complain with names.

What do you do with el cheapo golf balls?
Cody replied to TheWarHound's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
My family and I normally dont show up early and put and chip around or hit the range. So i use some trash balls on the first 2 holes or until I'm feeling good. Dont wanna lose some good balls on the "practice holes" -
The Iphone won't come close to killing the GPS market. Tons of phones have had GPS on them before the iphone even came out. My dad has had a GPS on his blackberry for as long as i can remember. Almost any smartphone out has the option of a GPS now adays. Heck my mom doesnt even have a smartphone and it has a GPS. I've got a cheapo GPS on my HTC Fuze, but i normally just use google maps and use the "from current location" feature.

Wow...That was really amazing. The fact that his position while running and standing still were almost the same is just unbelievable. I guess pro's really have their swing ingrained into their head!

Abandoning the 4 wedge setup...
Cody replied to youngskip40's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
i have been thinking about the 4 wedge setup for a while, but i think im going to stick with my three. pw(45), 50, 56. I know right about where all my clubs will go with half swings and what not. -
I hit the range about 10-15 times with a friend who is around an 8 handicap before i went out on the course. First time on a real course i shot a 60 and i had a chip in. It was such a sweet first round

I basically always wear this white one. every now and then I'll wear one of the many ones out of my closet(when i was little i collected hats anytime i went somewhere so i have around 50 or so from various places). I also have a green and yellow trucker hat from my high school.

Medicus: Powermaximus 460cc Driver
Cody replied to Parker0065's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
This looks really really cool. I'm really thinking of picking this up! -
What he said! SERIOUSLY! I've got a nickent 4dx draw. I absolutely love it. My dad, uncle, and grandpa have a mizuno mx-700, ping g-10, and ping rapture respectivley. They swing as hard as they can and blah blah and are all around longer hitters than me. When I'm keeping my drives in play with a nice easy swing, I'm right with them. Balls FLLLY off the club face. I really do not plan on getting rid of this driver until something horrible happens to it.
-
Honestly with the level my driving is at, its going to have to be driving. When I'm on with my drives I'll shoot good. I'm normally pretty consistent with my short game, so when Im out in no mans land with my drive its hard to score well.
-
I have an F-60 3 wood. I love it. I don't hit it off the fairway that much, but when i do its been pretty perfect. I absolutely jacked it the other day, went driver 3w into a par 5 and made it in 2(and im not a long hitter). Hit the 3w longer than my driver. I love it off the tee especially. I use it whenever I cant quite handle my driver.

so youre PW is 47*? Why dont you just grab a a 50* and bend your pw a bit
-
That really depends on who is doing the fitting. Some people will think differently. I swing stiff shafts and my swing speed is in the low 90's, high 80's(was high 80's when i got it measured but I've been tweaking my swing and swinging a bit faster). They work fine for me. I normally carry my 7 about 160.

When i was in your position last year, I thought i needed a good brand of clubs and everything too. Trust me, you don't. I got lucky, a friend of mine had old clubs that he let me use until i got a hang of the game. http://www.bestvaluegolf.com/air-power-package-set.html That would be a fine starter set. I wouldn't go for anything more expensive than that.

I disapprove of this thread. http://www.fuzemobility.com/theres-a...tand-for-this/ This is honestly the MOST IGNORANT thing i've ever seen on the internet. The iphone is honestly miles behind. Not to mention it was the LAST PHONE to get on 3g. It is NOT ahead of ANYTHING. My windows mobile HTC Fuze, can get an any application an Iphone can get and many many more. Most of them are not dumbed down either. Also if you want customization dont even think about getting an iphone. Oh man you can move the icons around... I can change ANYTHING on my phone without having to hack it and maybe get bricked. Now also, I'm not going to say the Iphone is a BAD PHONE. It's got its perks and I can understand why some people would want it, but don't say its ahead because its not.

When i was playing with my grandpa one time he had a pretttttty crazy shot. It was on a 9 hole course thats pretty nice and we were on the 9th comming into the club house. Behind the 9th green(which is a decent par 5), theres the cart path to the club house that goes through some trees. Well my grandpa hits a beautiful drive and is around 200 out. He takes out his iron and smacks it. It looked great, but it just went over the green and hit the cart path, bounced up, smacked a tree branch and then rolled within 5 feet of the cup. It was RIDICULOUS!

Should I give hybrids another try?
Cody replied to Sherlockian's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I love my nickent hybrids and i guess the 5dx's are better than the 4dx's. Really easy to hit. I can hit them off the tee, fairway, and rough. I love um! My grandpa has a g10 hybrid and it's probably the nicest hybrid ive ever hit. I love the shape and it just feels great. The shafts on the g10's are nice and its super duper easy to hit if thats what youre looking for. My dad picked up some bobby jones hybrids and they are pretty nice as well, I'm not a fan of the shape, but he hits them great and loves them. -
Check out some of the deals online right now. You can get a nike SQ Sumo2 5900 driver and fairway wood for 200. Not too shabby of a deal if you ask me. I play the mizuno f-60 3 wood. I love it. I use it alot when my driver is starting to fail me and the distance is great. Got it for like 80 bucks at a golf expo, sure you can find that for cheap. And as someone else said theres alot of good burner deals out there.
-
I play an odyssey white hot xg sabertooth, and if I had to do it again I'd either go with the white hot xg teron(similiar look but its more striaght back just a looks thing, looks as if it'd be easier to line up), rife two-bar hybrid mallet or the YES C-groove sandy.

Wilson STAFF vs Wilson STAFF's reputation
Cody replied to Paddymaster's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I've always wanted to put a wilson staff club in my bag. I loved their Ci7's. I was going to buy those until i found the awesome deal for my current clubs. I wouldn't say they are underrated by people who know what they are talking about. They always get great reviews by golf magazine and golf digest.
