C-mon you "guys". Look, I agree that what Woods did was bad golf etiquette. Ok, great. End of story right there. But you guys are making a mountain out of a molehill here. I don't spit on the greens. But I spit where ever the heck I please, anywhere else on the course. I chew tobacco. It is what it is. I don't care if you like it, or not. I'm not obvious about it. You wouldn't even necessarily know I was chewing, if you were in my group on the course. You guys are definitely overreacting to this whole deal, and are acting like a bunch of sissies.

Dude, what is with you and "the golf swing"? There isn't a single "one swing", that works for everyone. Who in the world are you to make that comment, about any Tour Pro's swing? What, are they all junk if they don't subscribe to your holy grail "Stack, Tilt, and Don't Win" method??
-
I have gone through a couple sets of those Jan Craigs. My 4 yr old son is sporting the old set now, on his clubs. Go to a Tour event, and you'll see a lot of 'em. That's not "why" I started using them, but it is where I first noticed them. Not cheap, but I like 'em.

I don't really get your huge fascination with Stack and Tilt? I know that you're a big fan of it, from what I've seen on this forum. But then, why are most of the players who used it....moving away from it? I'm not saying that it's not a good method. I've never messed with it, myself. I've never found a reason to change. My ball striking is pretty good. My areas for improving are around, and on the green. I just don't understand why, if it's such a great method...players are moving away from it? I'm beginning to wonder if maybe you're getting a cut of the royalties from the Stack and Tilt book, and DVD series? Weir and Baddeley both switched. Who's left, Dean Wilson?

Some of you "guys" in this thread, really need to lighten up. And maybe even grow a pair. Look, a lot of guys chew. I chew Kodiak and Copenhagen. I'm not ashamed. I spit on the golf course too. Oh no, oh no. I spit on the greens too. And guess what girls....you can't even see it. You have no idea that it even happened. So lighten up, you bunch of metros.

No. He screwed up and tried coming back, like 20 different times. He continually puts himself in the limelight. Continually brings bad things on himself. For the love of God man, the guy has a friggin' reality show coming out!!! (AGAIN) HE craves the attention. He brings it all on himself. He's the one that's been out there playing "half-a$$sed / I don't care" golf in polka-dotted neon green pants for over a year. So no, nobody needs to back off of John Daly. He needs to back off.

Thanks guys. Good info so far. Unsure of the exact model number...but the one I've been leaning towards is whatever the top model of the Skygolf is?? 4.5 maybe? Anyway, thanks for the info.

Tiger who? Did something happen? Gee, I don't know anything about it? It's old news to me now. Whenever he comes back, he comes back. Whatever. Now we'll actually get to see some coverage of other guys.....if they'd quit showing Daly and his zebra pants.

I've posted about my feelings on Daly the Trainwreck before. I'm not going to go into it too much in depth again, but the guy is a clown. He is a joke, that just keeps getting worse. And they continue to show more and more of him. There just isn't any more to see about the guy anymore. It's entirely played out. He doesn't have the game to contend again. (mental or shotmaking) I am so sick of seeing those friggin' pants. My 3 yr old asked if he was a clown. I had no choice but to reply, "Yes son, he is a clown". But hey....let's give the guy another show on TGC!!! Awesome.

Everyone.... I'm going to buy one of the many models of Golf GPS' out there. I've resisted it for a long time now, but I've decided that I want one. Problem is, I don't know which is the best / most reliable?? I'm leaning towards a Skygolf, but I've read a lot of mixed reviews. Anybody got any good info / help? I appreciate whatever advice you've got.......

Looks like as of right now at least, that Glover might be the one trying to close the gap. He's at -4 as of 3PM EST. It'd be something to see him contend on Sunday for his 2nd major of '09. My gut feeling though, is that what everyone thinks the end result will be....will be what actually happens. And that is, Tiger winning.

I was up north at Treetops Resort earlier in the year, and they have some framed scorecards posted on the wall. Now this is not the typical public course, or muni. It is more like what the pros are used to playing. But interesting info nonetheless. One card had Lee Janzen firing a 63, with Rick Smith shooting 67 or 68. (guess he can play a bit too, not just teach) There was another from Janzen shooting a 64. One with Mickelson carding 63 or 64, with another 68 from Rick Smith. These guys obviously, were playing from the tips. I had just played the Smith course that at least one of these cards had come from, and I played the Blue tees. I think I shot 75 or 76, and was extremely happy with it. But of course I was brought back down to earth, after I saw those scores.

I was there Friday. Daly's 88 was friggin' awesome. (joking) The way he just acted as if he didn't give a rat's a$$, about anything was just awe inspiring. (joking again) That guy needs some mental help. (not joking) He completely threw in the towel, and just went through the motions. He pi$$ed all over that sponsor's expemption. Way to go John. At any rate, TW shot a ho-hum 63. Nice day at Warwick, hope it's not the last year there!!!!!!

Where to get real golf clubs for a 3 year old?
egehoski replied to nelson84's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I'll vote for the U.S Kids golf clubs too. I've got the driver, 7 iron, putter set-up for my 2.5 year old twins. We have a boy and a girl. She's not that into it as of now, but my son is hooked. The clubs work out great, and they're fairly cheap in my opinion. I take him to the range with me now, when I know it's not that busy. He'd stay all day. If I had time I'd take him every day, because he has so much darn fun. "Daddy I really got ahold of that one huh"!! I've taught him some other lingo too. One of my favorites that he repeats is, "Daddy, I caught it a little thin". Pretty funny from a 2 yr old. Check out those clubs. And you can get them right or left handed. They're a pretty solid choice. -
I was just checking the leaderboard on pgatour.com, and noticed something interesting. (at least, it was to me) 9 players withdrew after their first rounds, and 6 of the 9 players shot par or better in their first rounds..?? And there were also 2 DQ's on top of that, which isn't uncommon..but still added to the rather large number of players leaving after the first round. I'm just wondering if anyone knows why there were so many that WD'd, after shooting pretty decent rounds? Not all of those guys played at Bethpage, so it can't just be the old "exhaustion" excuse. It just seemed interesting to me, so I thought I'd inquire here......

Man, you should be slapped for saying that Ken Venturi was an awful announcer. That's just wrong. You're entitled to your opinion, I suppose. Johnny Miller may have been a great player, until he got the yips. And he does know the game of golf. But he never has been a good golf announcer/analyst, and he never will be. When I listen to him I just want to jump through my TV screen, and roundhouse kick him right in the face.
-
I was pulling for him big time. A good Open for him, nonetheless. He held it together well, I thought. I used to be a huge Duval fan, back in the late 90's. Then honestly, I gave up on the guy. I could be wrong. In fact, I hope I am. I hope he keeps it going.
-
I'm leaving Tiger out of the equation. Picking Tiger, is too easy. I'm going with Jim Furyk. My two dark horse sleeper picks are Zach Johnson, and Steve Stricker. Who would I like to see win??? Phil, or Toms. But I'm not picking them.
-
I ride about 70% of the time. The other 30% of the time, I use my push cart. I never carry my clubs on the course. Haven't done that since my teen years. I play best when I use my push cart, and walk. Tend to take my time more. More time to assess the situation on the way to the ball.
-
Voted inconclusive. See it happen a lot. Not saying it's right or wrong. Looked like he was just "testing" the situation. It definitely tamped down some grass, but did it improve his lie....I don't know? Ball didn't appear to move or anything, not that that was the issue. Inconclusive. That's my position.

Best looking swing? The guy that wins. I'll take the winning swing, you take the pretty one.

Taylormade R9 Driver - Good Bad & Ugly?
egehoski replied to kurtwainwright's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
First, I have NOT hit the club. I'm sure it's a heckuva driver. For what you're looking for, it's probably perfect. Me personally, I'm not into these new overly adjustable drivers. I did use an R7 425 for a long time, with the weights neutral. But this club, and I think some other manufacturers too...are complicating things. I keep it simple nowadays. I've been playing a Burner for a couple of years. Simple, long, and straight down the middle. And a lot cheaper.
