  1. When your dog is named Birdie (guilty) Your favourite number is your lowest score on 18 holes. You look at applications online for applying for a job at Titleist or other golf companies. You go to the local golf store at the simulator at night or during the winter to "stay sharp" You have a net in the backyard to hit balls into. Your basement can be referred to as "mini Golf Town" with all your old merchandise. You have tried playing golf under water with buddies You call courses to ask if they are draining their ponds to retrieve the balls. 70%of your income goes to golf. the other 30% is food.
  2. Before today, my previous low score was 81. I am playing a weekly round with my father and brother. JUust another day playing. On the range, feels the same. Hit a good shot, hit a bad one, etc. We go to the course and i birdie the first hole. Long story short, i played the round of my life. Never in ym three year golf career has my game all coem together at once. One day, my driver is off. the next its my putting. Im sure many casual golfers can relate to this feeling. Anyway, my goal this year was to break 80. I smashed that record by shooting a 1 over par 73 today. Details coming tomorrow on what i shoot in a tournment.
  3. Welcome. Scotty usually gives out Christmas Cards. Only if you have been good.
  4. Could not have said it better myself Mini. Im sure you did not mean all teenagers act like those teens in the store, but you must admit, you were very quick to judge with "modern day teens". Instead of damaging public property and doing drugs, I am golfing and learning. I guess i am a minority?
  5. Isn't Henrik Stenson around 6'6?
  6. As a 17 year old, i find your comment very biased. Modern Day teens? Those kids are just retarted. That has no reflection on me. Can i say old men are quick to assume all teens are idiots?
  7. If anyone can top this i will be very suprised. My buddy threw his 5 wood onto the freeway in anger. or should i say "Slipped out of his hands". LMAO. Funniest thing ever. Like all golfers, we finished our round until we were approached by the head pro and a cop holding a golf club broken into 8 pieces. We actually invited the cop to play the next day. Still laugh out loud to this day.
  8. I have a golf buddy who is great to play with. He is a great pal and sometimes acts liek a total jackass on the course. i don't care that he acts funny because i honestly love it. Anyway, he is a very skilled golfer with a 2 handicap. Always encouraging to my game liek "nice shot" or "good ball" after some shots of mine. I have nothign to complain about with this guy EXCEPT WHEN IT COMES TO BETTING If we play a round for a $4 beer, he is all of a sudden the most serious player ever. EVER. He turns into Tiger. If i hit my tee shot and i loose sight of it, he just ignores me if i ask. Does not help me find my ball when the previous hole i foudn his in the woods. All of his nice shot comments are all of a sudden out the window and he plays liek its the US Open. Love the guy, but will never bet with him on the course. Its life or death for that beer i tell ya.
  9. i don't know how you guys don't keep track of your score. Mine is in my head constantly. I find golf you improve very fast, and then you hit a plateau. Once you hit a stage in your game when your shooting a consistent score, you need to practise more/harder etc to break that stage. wether its breaking 100, 90, 80, etc. You hit stages in your game, and its harder to improve that stroke after every level. Anyone understand what im tryin to say?
  10. My goal this year is to break 80. I have been so close several times but this was the worst. Standing on the 16th tee, 6 over par on a par 72 course. i then proceed to finish with bogey bogey bogey. for a nice 9 over 81. Perhaps i am not mentally ready to break this score, although the whole round i was feeling really good. Hitting greens, fairways, gettin up and down. I thought today was the day. I felt i had to rant on here. I just wanna see that 7* score.
  11. I will also agree with you on that statement. I started golf 2 years ago so i bought a cheap pair for liek $60. I then fell in love with the game but my shoes would always give me blisters and did not mold to my feet like some technology on shoes did now, liek the cranks on the back of some shoes. I then decided to invest in a great pair (Adidas Tour 360, limited, $300) and my feet feel amazing in them. I feel liek wearing those things around all day. No blisters, never slip, just the perfect shoe. Plus they look amazing in pants
  12. GreyHawk for sure. And if you can try to play SilverLeaf. Fred couples, ben curtis, geoff ogilvy are all members there.
  13. maybe its just me, but it seems liek your standign to close to the ball. that looks liek a 6-iron not a 3 wood with your stance
  14. If your hittign the ball high, you shoudl go with the D2. I would also suggest goign with a stiff shaft instead of regular. With a swing speed liek that, plus the caliber player you used to be, stiff is the way to go. The 909 is a beautiful set, but the D1 does allow for more workability with the driver. the D3 is for golfers who hit the ball to low.
  15. Adam Scott has a very nice swing, very appealign to the eye, but WOW the guy is the biggest choke artist. With a swing liek that, you should win atleast some tournaments. Goes to show you the swing is not everthing, look at Jim Furyk. I bet when Jim was a junior, alot of coaches would laugh when they first saw his swing.
  16. EBAY MY FRIEND! i got a ton of used balls for sale. Around 200+ provs, nike ones, tp reds and blacks. All great condition. very low price
  17. I had one friend throw his 5-wood on the highway! he duffed his shot, and meant to throw the club up the fairway. Instead, he released to late and it landed dead smack on a busy highway. Thing was in peices lol Another buddy threw his wedge in the air afte a bad chip. Got stuck in a tree, so he takes hsi shoe off to knock it off, then his shoe gets stuck in the tree! good times
  18. 2 years ago, i would have taken Adam im a heartbeat, however, Adam has been playign soem pretty terrible golf. Adam was cut in the first or second round of the FedEx cup and you can see he is frustrated withhsi game lately. Hunter on the other hand played decent to amazing golf all year, and also played well at teh Ryder Cup. A great match up, but i would take Hunter
  19. This is sometimes the common dosage of moving into new irons, but since yours are blades, it is true you lsoe distance. The sweet spot on a blade is a very small dot, and you will know exactly when you hit that sweet spot, as im sure its with your other clubs, it feels like you hit air. Your ball is hitting the centre of the face, but is still not quite on the sweet spot. Play aroudn with them. Blades are meant for shaping your ball accurately, and made for great players.
  20. Ive beenplaying at a country club course, which is moderatly tough for a year and my best score was 81. What helped me the most is me and my buddies played almost everyday during the summer (16 years old, no job, no worries ). Two of them were scratch while the other was a 4. Very amazing players. Watchign them swing at the ball and their tendencies on the course honestly helped the most. It sounds corny but it actually worked. I would ask questions about their choices of club and sometimes what they were thinkign about playng a partcular shot. Plus the odd tip of course.
  21. Listen *******. I am 17 yars old and i am a scracth golfer. Whatever the **** you just said, is a bunch of horse shit. That is the stupidest ****ign swing i hae ever heard of. Hit the ****ing ball and stop saying and thinkign of all this shit you read. To the teaching pro, what you said is true, but why are you a 4 handicap?
  22. someone leaves a putt short did you forget your skirt in the car? or i hope your cock isn't that short... when someoen hits it in the woods. no need for a provisional, the bears can find that 1. somone hits it in the water...SPLOOSH!
  23. This story happened 2 weeks ago. I was playing my second shot in deep rough on the right side of the hole. I grab my 4i which was dumb to reach the green. massive tree 50 feet infront of me. I swing and it hits the trunk of the tree, bounces and lands the EXACT ssame spot i hit it. I get ready again to hit my ball. Flushed the 4i, but hit the EXACT same spot on the tree trunk and this time i caught my ball!!! My friend and I still laugh about it all the time. Classic move.
  24. After 3 minutes i would be done
  25. of course take less thoughts out of your head. i will also use a 1991 quarter (year i was born). a little good luck charm
