  1. Balls are not Xouts due to superficial appearance only but can be pulled out because they are too heavy or too long which makes them desirable for us hackers.
  2. sounds like you have a reverse weight shift going on. plant weight on the inside of the right foot and turn around it.
  3. we were not asked if we respected her but if we thought she was hot. Of course she has the respect of the public as does Venus. Especially with her father, Venus has done very well. She doesn't have to be hot to be a great athlete.
  4. Since .1% of the US 600 billion dollars is counterfeit, pay for the counterfeit products with counterfeit dollars. counterfeiting is a $250 billion dollar industry in the USA right now. Most people can evaluate only by the name on the product and are vulnerable to counterfeiters. If you cannot trust your government or your media, why do you think you trust your retailer. If the deal seems too good then the alarm should go off. You have braggers who claim to only have spent $150 for their Scotty Cameron. DUH!!!!!!!???? The best part is these guys think that they are really smart.
  5. Knock Offs are meant to look like originals and are usually patent violations. There are assembled clubs which are not knock offs and are less expensive but hold little value when used. Buy a good used set and takes care of them and they will be worth close to what you paid for them when you trade them in.
  6. With vibration dampening it is hard to feel the difference. The cast will not dent from bag chatter as much as forged. I think that forged irons put more spin on the ball but that might just be a mental thing. But saying that you play forged blades is like taking a Viagra.
  7. The children of whole language.
  8. Does anyone know if there is drug testing in Professional Tennis?
  9. voting with administration is not totally condemning because even though I thoroughly dislike George W. and his daddy, the administration has been right some of the time. We need a law that no more Bush family members may run for office. I just hope that Obama doesn't turn out to be a black Jimmy Carter. I wish that the Hollywood types would stay out of this thing and let's vote for political reasons and not because some personality likes him.
  10. The Hustler Jackie Gleason played his own shots. Jackie Gleason once challenged Arnold Palmer on the golf course. Jackie Gleason was a good stick in two sports.
  11. I have always been a lag putter but at this public course with so much play the cups become higher due to the foot print pressure around the holes. right edge putts break off to the right and left edge break off to the left. The opening is dead center up the hill. Have tried a number of techniques and the best is putting up the back of the ball but I would rather find a putter that would help with center firm putting. would appreciate any suggestions.
  12. you need a lob wedge laid open 56 wedge can get a 36 handicap into real trouble. lob wedges usually have less bounce which helps avoid blading and usuallly have a sharper leading edge to cut through the long grass. don't listen to anyone about wedges unless they have taken the wedges to the grinder to get the bounce and edge that they want.
  13. I did not play golf. I am retired as I have done since retirement, the course is for the people who work every day
  14. You are opening Pandora's box here. If it sounds easy and simple, then why isn't everyone building their own clubs? I stared building clubs 20 years ago. Back in the days of "wooden" woods, I have whipped hosels and reset inserts. ( every hear of hitting it on the screws ) Refinishing was a lot of work then, just use a sandblaster now. Maltby's book, a club scale, a grip template, ruler, club vise, A+B epoxy, acetone, tape for grips, grip solvent and someone to call when you get jammed up are needed before your start.
  15. if you truly want a blade then I would suggest the scotty cameron flange. it looks like an old bulleye but is much much better.
  16. Most golfers play with shafts that are too stiff for them. Our old pro picked four guys A
  17. I cannot speak enough spanish to mimic his swing. I don't regrip a few hundred times and I don't spit into the cup when the hole is finished.
  18. I don't think McCain will every lead in the polls. If he is elected it will only be that in the booth people panic at the last minute and cannot pull down the Obama lever. If McCain wins, you will have Hilary running against Sarah in 2012 and the two choices will be women. I just think a lot of Obama supporters will get cold feet at the last minute.
  19. If you have the head reshafted make sure that the installer removes the sharp edge on the inside of the hosel. otherwise the replacement shaft will also eventually break
  20. I'd rather have real brass than a mushy insert putter. I use a brass headed putter at the public course and a Sc flanged blade at the CC. I like the old Bullseye putter Warning; Some alloys with brass actually harden with age. I believe BeCu heads harden with age. Stainless Steel is harder and the feel is different.
  21. you all made me feel guilty and I washed my clubs last night. I like to use a wire brush and "Barkeeper's Friend" and water
  22. If you buy a good used set, they will be close in value paid if you decide to stop or trade in for a better set. If you buy a set of clones, they will have little value if you want to trade in or put on garage sale. Beginner's sets have very little value when used. Check on E bay and see what a used set of clones or a beginners set is going for.
  23. it gets your hands ahead of the putter face to encourage stroking or sweeping instead of hitting the golf ball. Personally, I am a tapper so I hate offset. BUT if you have to stand on one leg with one eye closed and the ball goes in the hole then this is what you want. No style points in putting and no judges scoring, its just putting the ball into a hole.
  24. the rule of thumb was 1 in = 8 swingweight points. counter weights will just make it worse. Weight plugs can be placed in the tip if necessary. Choking up is a good idea. Look at professionals and you'll see that most choke up on everything.
  25. I have not been a Taylormade fan for several years but I have tried and bought the driver and irons because they just work.
