  1. My gripes so far: No ability to use start page instead of start menu as promised Edge is awful - performance is still worse than Chrome even after being bloated with add-ons for years No clean installation - must be an upgrade to an existing OS WTF is with that search bar by the Start icon?
  2. On a mobile and didn't feel like editing all of that quotation but I speak my gripes as a developer first, consumer second. Also, how could anyone possibly disagree on processing power? There is absolutely no question that for the money, you get less tflops with an Apple product. In reference to your "everyone has gotten used to it" defense of Apples navigational UI, I suppose you'd use the same argument to defend QWERTY over DVORAK? Next, about the app store, in reference to the customers, "they're the ones paying the money".... Again obviously you've never developed an app because with Apple, the developer pays to list their app, even if it's free. So with Apple the developer pays to give his/her creation away for free while apple refuses to refund their 30% back to the developer if they decide to issue a refund to customers. That means, Apple can choose to refund customers for your app AND keep the 30% of gross sales even though that will force the developer to come out of pocket. So, yes, it doesn't surprise me that you prefer Apples "the consumer is always right and screw the developers making all this possible" ideology because in this day and age people have come to expect programmers to do their job for free. Not many of us are outspoken so it's not surprising you aren't familiar with any of this. I mean, you do use a Huddler forum system so I see where that comes from.. -_- Lastly, "Apple products can run an OS made years after the hardware was released." The general rule of thumb with iPhone is they can be upgraded twice. Like the iPhone 4 was limited to iOS 6 etc (I think 4 was allowed to go to 7, but it's about the same as a 2008 MacBook running Yosemite - about as fast as a Miata with a fat guy driving). I guess you're unaware the same thing can be done on Windows/Android systems with similar performance fallbacks. Okay I'm done pooping now, but there's plenty more flawed logic to examine in your defense the next time the Throne calls my name. :)
  3. Not very impressed. Unstable to say the least. The installation fails on almost every machine I've seen. Only upgraded my new Lenovo Yoga 15, left my desktops and other laptops on 8.1. Not sure what everyone's gripe is about 8.1 - maybe they never did the free upgrade from 8? Regular Windows 8 did suck pretty bad, but 8.1 fixed it right up. Either way, Windows 8.1 is hands down the most stable OS that Microsoft has ever released aside from XP SP2. I agree 8.1/8 is quite different from the old versions, but once you learn to use the new start menu it saves tons of time. As a multi tasking programmer I love windows 8.1 (they shouldn't have removed camera resolution settings but oh well), but if I was just wanting to get on Facebook and creep on my kids, I admit the changed UI would feel unnecessary and confusing. I'm so ready for Windows to be rebuilt from the ground up on the Unix platform. Will Bill ever remove his head from his arse long enough to swallow his pride and make his OS 10x better by doing this? Probably not, but a nerd can dream. If Windows was based off of Unix, there'd be no reason to buy any OSX machine.
  4. From my understanding the accuracy issues arise from the relay time it takes to triangulate between 3 satellites. By the time the signal is received, positions have changed thus dulling the accuracy of the location.
  5. I have not had cable TV since 2009 when I got my Netflix account. $8/month vs $80/month - you do the math.
  6. I do like Apples ideology of redesigning components we take for granted (such as pixels) but my biggest gripe with them is that they just don't posses enough raw processing power for the price. They also have poor navigational implementation throughout most of their software. They're also the king of "upgrade to the new version" marketing. The first iPhone didn't have a camera, you're telling me that wasn't intentional to make all first time buyers upgrade to the next release? If they'd lose some of the new age hipster attitude, price their products more reasonably (or pay the Chinese a living wage for their work) then I would be more apt to use their products exclusively. But as it sits now, the only thing Apple produces that is truly superior to its counter part are the retina pixels. I also like that OSX is Unix based. Makes local testing of Web Development a piece of cake. :) But as far as support for developers, the Google Play store is leaps and bounds ahead of the Apple App store in terms of being developer-friendly. Neither tech giant chose a good language for the base of their mobile OS, though. -_-
  7. Agreed. There are traditionally good swings that will work for a majority of people and be taught by coaches/instructors, but back in the day swings were almost like finger prints. Just look at Lee Trevino. I think people are just plain good or bad at certain things. They can get better of course but natural talent is the biggest determining factor in my opinion. I've had several lessons and I'm still terrible. Never had a guitar lesson a day in my life and got an honorary Jazz degree from my college. Just have fun, that's the only measure of having a good life. :)
  8. People think Howard Stern is funny? That's the most shocked I've been since I saw Jenner's new appearance along-side his (her?) old voice.
  9. That is one improvement but I also have The Golf Club and I think going too far down the realism road is a bad thing too, that game is so hard it's almost unplayable. I guess I liked the half way arcade feel of the old TWPGA games.
  10. Don't know how many of you guys played the TW series of this game but I was gravely disappointed I'm the new Rory version. 90% of the features are gone and there's some stupid gimmick mode added for night golfing, which was also better on the last installment in 2014 (2013). Even if this game were free, I don't see myself playing it. Glad I tested it out before buying it, wouldn't want a $60 drink coaster.
  11. I'd have a potato launcher with laser target acquisition for my driver and Rodney Dangerfield's putter from Caddy Shack. Would only need 2 "clubs". ;)
  12. Sounds like someone in the scheduling department has an appointment with HR.
  13. Like physics class, but less boring! :)
  14. I was thinking the same thing. Obviously they haven't seen some of the cows we breed at the local buffets. LOL
  15. Used to be in the same boat. I now just baby tap my driver, put it 220-240 in the fairway, and play my approach with a 8-5 iron (160-200yd). Went from double bogey average to bogey average from almost that one change. Once I figure out how to actually hit the thing I might break 80 a few more times! LOL
  16. Who didn't see that coming? Was a horrible angle to record a swing in the first place.
  17. Seems like a gimmick (we know they're famous for that) but I would like to hit a few of them and see how they respond on mishits. I have a feeling there isn't much difference and it's a marketing ploy but I could be wrong.
  18. danL

    Low punch cut

I just always stand a bit open, steepen my swing plane a bit, and it fades naturally. Want to know how I hit a baby draw? By trying to hook it into the woods. How do I hit it straight? By trying to play a baby draw. LOL
  19. You guys must eat some wide bacon. I always heard them called dollar bill divots.
  20. What about running through a family park shirtless? Seems to be a favorite of the douches' around here.
  21. There is no law that guarantees you against offense. That's is ludicrous. We were the land of the free, not the land of the politically correct and emotionally protected. Everyone is such a cry baby these days. "I don't like that, my feelings are hurt, someone has to conform to my bullying in the name of anti-bullying." I guess we should start ripping down, demolishing, and pissing on the ashes of the great pyramids, you know, because they're "offensive" to Jews who's ancestors were enslaved and forced to build them. Oh, they aren't complaining? Everyone else take note. The Holocaust was a lot more recent than the American slave trade (which was initiated by Africans).
  22. Right? He would probably get to see more doing a quick Google search. Who knows though, maybe she'll come drunk. LOL
  23. I've done 36 a few times, but I'm always exhausted afterwards. Courses are so hilly here.
  24. Sad that this happened. I know plenty of golfers I would rather that ball hit than the poor gull!
  25. I'm a programmer with too much time on my hands. :) What exactly are you looking for, something you can enter each holes score on and it will calculate how much money is owed by who?
