  2. Talking of dress you have to wonder where Fowler parks his bike and maybe someone should tell him he has left his cycle clips on
  3. Going by American answers do we now call THE MASTERS the American Masters as there are :masters: around the golfing world Not for me, the Masters is like THE Open unique in its history and is rightly THE Masters
  4. Not a case of they like to be called the open It has always been The Open
  5. Out of interest it is THE OPEN not the British open
  6. Voted non and believe strongly no Unless of course they proved to have depression in personality effects

    Like a Girl

I am probably older than your good self but could repeat your upbringing retained habits verbatim After 53 years married have recently lost my fair lady to pneumonia but we never believed good manners belittled either party
  8. All the comments have value but for me the best for focussed help has been on. concentrated relaxing of hand elbows and shoulders
  9. Greg Norman or Faldo Ps That broomstick is simply not golf and the authorities bottled the correct decision years back
  10. You surely mean the Tottenham game on Sunday ?? :-D
  11. This must be the same man (struggled to avoid adjective ) who suggested bigger soccer goals Leave the game alone but make pay to play cheaper in off peak times and with all the money swishing around in golf lay on more free group instructed practice sessions
  12. Baz played your course in July and have seen the notice banning said shoes and now understand the problem Ps that is some 18th to finish on
  13. Many UK clubs with "standards" as all above and personally I am all for regimented Grace and manners in and around golf clubs/courses There is however a UK problem of falling.g memberships and good old fashioned snobbery and over priced joining fees with more cost in annual fees generally to blame From my own observations the clubs with the biggest membership problems are those where hierarchical snobbery is obvious and the "blazers" forget that the members are the clients and they should be the focal point not the "blazers"
  14. Tigers problem is a career that has stretched with serious intent from circa pre infant school Given the nature and physical intensity of his swing his body has experienced twice the workload of the normal pro golfer and must be fast approaching the end of a great career
  15. His teenage appearance his interviews which are now so more mature and odd items in his swing that were idiosyncratic rather than considered for the winning long term
  16. Lots of chat on the American and European golfers but possibly in ignorance I wondered if the difference is down to the nature of home courses individuals are reared on In Britain for instance all coastal courses demand shot making of a most variable skills whilst from viewing American courses (on TV) it is far more similar to long rang pitch and putt with greens hugely more receptive It is also apparent that when Americans spend time touring Europe they tend to end up being more successful Some obvious supposition in my thoughts having never played a selection of American courses but feelings gain.ed from TV viewing
  17. It may just be possible that Jack knows what it takes to win the odd major or two
  18. Jack has said recently that Rory will collect major wins and is no1 If there is doubt then Jack's opinion will do for me
  19. As a European and hoping to continue RC dominance please select Tiger Woods ;-)
  20. Having struggled to appreciate the immature Rickie I have in recent months taken very much to this suddenly mature intelligent young man His golf has progressed to within a single improvement to being the challenger to all comers in major honours pursuit True that final step is the toughest to achieve in golf, total focus whilst achieving relaxed approach Whilst making the move into the top ten is difficult the move to winner of majors (plural) is 100per cent reserved for those who are able to relax the body staying confident and single minded in operation Good luck Rickie
  21. Grass roots and young/New golfers will always watch live or on TV Ricky and Rory have more in common with young golfers than Tiger ever had More tournaments like today and we will.see an expanding grass roots and so much the better for the future or Do we preferable bad mouthing stars with dubious history in regards the rules of the game and an public persona with a personality by-pass
  22. Here in the UK we are brilliantly served by Sky pundits and commentary teams but as so much of the American channels are the main on course viewing content we are deluged with Tiger coverage Why oh why is this golfer with a personality by-pass who uses the worst possible language in front of women and children and who has at best dubious regard for golfing integrity given huge amounts of TV coverage and "expert" coverage Understandably if in majors he threatened to win, understandable if he was a Jack or an Ernie or a Nick that could be pointed out the young golfers as the way perform when winning or losing There are so many brilliant young and not so young golfers who play the game with charm whilst being powerfully motivated to win who deserve full on coverage
  23. Favourites have to start with nice guy best swing ever Ernie To watch and learn Nick Faldo Jack for learning how to win with unstinting Grace First reserve for stamina in services to golf Tom Watson l Attitude towards the game and your opposition dislikes for me start with; Tiger ( class bully ) The inventor of the broomstick putter Gary Player in interview but not in play
